Both Teams to Score:

One of the most popular World Cup Final Props figures to be “Both Teams to Score“. Argentina have scored in each of their six matches in the tournament so far. Lionel Messi has found the net in five of them and Julian Alvarez is second on the roster with four goals. Argentina have scored at least twice in all of their knockout stage games.

Meanwhile, France have been shut out just once in the World Cup. After they sealed knockout stage qualification, Didier Deschamps switched the lineup and Les Bleus lost to Tunisia 1-0. Like Argentina, France have scored at least twice in each of their three knockout stage matches. Still, “Both Teams to Score” comes in at just -105 odds. Meanwhile, a bet on “No” is implied to be more likely to come through, at -135 odds. Teams tend to take fewer risks in World Cup Finals but both offenses are potent and neither defense has been anywhere close to flawless.

Goals from both teams in the first half shows just +500 odds and +250 in the second half. The odds of one or both teams failing to score are -1000 and -400 in the first and second half, respectively.

Punters can also bet on BTTS on a half-by-half basis. Goals from both teams in the first half shows just +500 odds and +250 in the second half. The odds of one or both teams failing to score are -1000 and -400 in the first and second half, respectively. When France defeated Croatia 4-2 in the final four years ago, BTTS hit in both halves.

Result/Totals:

Combining the match result and the totals can provide punters with boosted odds. Say for instance, you believe there will be a bunch of goals scored and Argentina will win. Argentina and game total over 4½ at +2000 could be a very attractive option. A draw and total under 1½ implies a scoreless draw, which sits at +600 odds for the match. The last time Argentina were in the final, in 2014, the match finished scoreless in regulation. La Albiceleste later lost in extra time to a Mario Gotze goal for Germany.

The latest odds give Argentina and France both a +180 price to win the match. France and total over 1½ comes in at boosted +275 odds, while Argentina and total over 1½ sits at +300 odds. Each and every Argentina match so far has finished with two or more goals. Stopping Argentina’s attack will be a tall task for France, who only just kept their first shutout of the tournament on Wednesday vs. Morocco.

Low scoring draws have been decent bets in recent editions of the World Cup final. Three of the last four finals have finished in draws with two or fewer goals scored. A straight up draw shows +205 odds for the match, while a draw and total under under 2½ is priced at +240 odds. France haven’t played an extra time match at the World Cup since the 2006 final, though.

Method of Victory/Extra Time:

While three-way moneylines only consider the first 90 minutes of a match, other World Cup prop bets can fill in the gaps. The Method of Victory prop is useful for those who believe the match will go into extra time or be decided in penalties. While Argentina to win in 90 minutes comes in at +180 odds, an Argentina extra time victory sits at +1000 odds.

A France extra time victory is implied to be slightly less likely, at +1100 odds. It’s also interesting that Argentina show shorter odds to win in penalties than France, even if it’s a slight difference. La Albiceleste sit at +750 odds to win in penalties, while Les Bleus are priced at +800 odds to win in PKs. That could have something to do with the fact that Argentina have already won in penalties during the World Cup. After conceding a two-goal lead to the Netherlands in the quarterfinal, Argentina kept their nerve to win 4-3 in PKs.

In fact, Argentina have the most penalty kick wins of any team in World Cup history. They come into the final with a 5-1 record in PKs. Goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez came up big in a shootout vs. Colombia in last year’s Copa America and recently vs. the Netherlands. Meanwhile, France lost the 2006 final in penalties and lost last Summer to Switzerland in the Euros on PKs. France GK Hugo Lloris has made some stunning saves in the last two matches, though.

First/Anytime Goalscorer:

One of the most entertaining World Cup Final Props is picking the goalscorers. Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi are both vying for the Golden Boot and level on five goals. This is the biggest match of Messi’s life and he has the opportunity to potentially end his Argentina career with World Cup glory. The diminutive forward is implied to be the player most likely to score the first goal and score in general. Messi heads into the match at +375 odds to score the first goal and +165 odds to score at any point.

Mbappe sits at +450 and +200 odds, respectively and he scored in the final four years ago. Olivier Giroud and Julian Alvarez have been excellent for France and Argentina, respectively. They have both scored four goals in the tournament and Alvarez is coming off a brace vs. Croatia. Giroud shows a +650 price to score the first goal of the match, while Alvarez sits at +600 to do the same. As anytime goalscorers, Giroud and Alvarez come in at +300 and +275 odds, respectively.

There are some intriguing dark horse candidates to find the back of the net. Alexis Mac Allister and Enzo Fernandez have had their fair share of chances in the tournament. The Argentina midfielders have scored one goal each so far. They’re priced at +1400 and +1600, respectively, to score the first goal of the match. Meanwhile, Mac Allister shows +650 odds as an anytime goalscorer and Fernandez comes in at +750 odds. Antoine Griezmann is an interesting option for France. He’s played more of a provider role in the tournament, with three assists, but also scored in the 4-2 victory over Croatia in 2018. He shows +900 odds to score the first goal and +400 as an anytime goalscorer.

Player of the Match:

The FIFA betting odds list this as a primarily two-man race. Lionel Messi comes in as the favorite to be named man of the match, at +150 odds. France superstar and his PSG teammate Kylian Mbappé sits at +200 odds. Messi and Mbappe are by far the most dynamic players in the match and have often been at their best in the tournament. With moments of brilliance, they are capable of becoming match winners for their teams.

Antoine Griezmann, at +800 odds, is next in line. The Atletico Madrid man won man of the match in the 2018 final and can cause all kinds of problems with his service. Julian Alvarez has been a breakout star for Argentina at the tournament and he is priced at +900 odds. Both Argentina GK Emi Martinez and France keeper Hugo Lloris also show +900 odds to win Player of the Match, along with France striker Olivier Giroud.

Martinez is the only other player whose odds are at +1000 or shorter. He sits at +1000 odds but his minutes have been limited as Alvarez has emerged. The midfield engines of both teams come in at +3300 odds and it’s certainly not out of the question that they win.

Backup Argentina striker Lautaro Martínez is the only other player whose odds are at +1000 or shorter. He sits at +1000 odds but his minutes have been limited as Alvarez has emerged. The midfield engines of both teams come in at +3300 odds and it’s certainly not out of the question that they win. Aurelien Tchouameni and Rodrigo de Paul have often been excellent for France and Argentina, respectively. A game changing substitute could also win man of the match, like Mario Gotze did for Germany in 2014. Angel di Maria has been nursing an injury for Argentina but the winger is an interesting pick at +1600 odds.
