Aussie Headlines LIV Golf Invitational Preview

Get Ready for Excitement in Singapore

Our LIV Golf Invitational preview looks at the best bets for the Singapore tournament this week, and if it’s anything like Adelaide last week, we can’t wait.

The Australians really knew how to embrace the more relaxed nature of the LIV Tour, which they did with admiration.

It was a huge crowd, and although fans in Singapore are more reserved, we hope it continues.

LIV Golf odds are headed by Cameron Smith, who eyes his first success since winning the Open Championship.

Smith Seeking Maiden Win

It won’t be long until Cameron Smith wins on the LIV Tour, and although there are limited opportunities, he deserves to be the favorite.

The 29-year-old had an incredible year on the PGA Tour in 2022, winning the Open Championship and The Players.

It rocketed him to number two in the world, but just because he moved tours, doesn’t mean he should stop performing at a high level.

It’s not easy to win on the LIV Tour. Talor Gooch was -20 after just two rounds last week, so it requires arguably better golf than what we see most weeks on the PGA Tour.

Golf schedules allow Smith to play LIV and the majors, and that means he’s one of a few players preparing for the bigger tournaments.

“We’re playing a lot of golf, which is nice,” Smith said. “I guess that tournament readiness feels like it’s really there.

“It’s just a little flick of the switch and everything is back in line, and it was how it was last year.

“I think I did a really good job of actually just playing golf with all the outside noise. There was a lot of good on the golf course.”

Our LIV Golf Invitational preview has Smith producing the goods at +1000. We’re happy to take those odds for the Singapore tournament.

Ancer With the Answer

Abraham Ancer is in a similar boat to Smith, but we expect him to show his best form on the LIV Tour soon.

The Mexican owns only one win on the PGA Tour, which came in the WGC Fed-Ex St. Jude Invitational, but that came against a top field.

He also has two top 10 finishes at the majors, so winning on the LIV Tour isn’t beyond the 32-year-old, who also won in Saudi Arabia earlier this year when holding off Cameron Young in a tournament that featured a mix of LIV and PGA Tour players.

Our LIV Golf International Preview has Ancer at +1800, which is a fair price for a quality golfer.

He should be near the top of the leaderboard after the first round, which sets him up for a strong weekend finish.

Garcia’s Class to Shine

Sergio Garcia is one of the best players on the field, so it’s only a matter of time before the Masters champion wins.

The controversial Spaniard is an 11-time winner on the PGA Tour, so he is one of the best professionals to ever play the game, regardless of his antics.

The 43-year-old might be past his best, but we’re happy to stick with him at the current odds of +2200.

He got frustrated with reporters before the Masters, who suggested he hadn’t been playing enough.

“I don’t think you meant that, but I did play … I played five tournaments coming in here. So it’s pretty good,” Garcia said. “There’s been times where I probably maybe haven’t played that much coming into here. But it’s usually around that, four, five, six tournaments. But that wasn’t the problem.”

There is some specking for Garcia, who has been playing well enough in recent times. His most recent tournament win came in 2020, but we don’t think it’ll be too long before he puts it all together for a LIV Tour victory.
