Backing LIV Stars at PGA Championship
Koepka Could Crush the 2024 PGA Championship Odds

Valhalla GC hosts the PGA Championship this week where Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy are favored to win. However, there is better value with 2024 PGA Championship odds with LIV players, including defending champion Brooks Koepka.
It should be another intriguing golf major, and the PGA leaderboard could be packed with the biggest names in golf.
Koepka Picked to Defend Title
It doesn’t matter what form Koepka is in, he’s always a chance to win a major, especially the PGA Championship, where he is already a three-time winner. Luckily for bettors, he’s in grand form after becoming the first golfer to win four LIV tournaments. His best form always comes in the majors, and he’s looking to add to his five titles.
Valhalla is among the golf courses that suit his playing style and he has been respected with 2024 PGA Championship odds. The American is a +1200 chance at the sportsbook, which is a fair price for the 34-year-old, who has more confidence than most golfers.
Golf analyst Andy North had this to say about Koepka.
“He’s a contract killer, simply,” he said. “He shows up to a major championship, opens his locker and there’s like the ‘Mission Impossible’ thing: ‘Here’s your assignment, go kill somebody this week.’ That’s how he approaches golf at major championships. I love it.”
We love it, too. Koepka is always on the hunt for a major, and we think he will represent LIV admirably.

Overdue Win for Rahm
Jon Rahm has been consistent since joining LIV, having yet to finish worse than T10. The Spaniard and former Masters winner has class on his side, and although wins have eluded him recently, he could erase that pain with a win at the PGA Championship.
After opening at +1800 with 2024 PGA Championship odds, money has come for him. He’s into +1400, and we’re seeing plenty of betting support for LIV players, which is great to see.
Everyone who watches golf knows how big a threat Rahm is, and it would be foolish to leave him out of selections for the second major of the year.

Big Bryson Eyes Second Major Title
Bryson DeChambeau won the 2020 U.S. Open and he’s hungry for more success at the top level. He’s not as consistent as he was when playing on the PGA Tour. But his PGA scores today would be good enough to compete. His career has taken a different trajectory. He scored a 58 last year and there aren’t many golfers in the world who can achieve that feat.
It’s what makes DeChambeau a threat to win the PGA Championship. If he’s anywhere close to his best game, he can put up a big lead. The eight-time PGA Tour winner has won some of the biggest tournaments in the world, including The Memorial, Arnold Palmer Invitational, and The Northern Trust.
Getting +2500 with golf betting odds is too generous to pass up, and we expect to see him near the top of the leaderboard.
He’s a solid top 10 and top 20 bet this week, so cover him on all bases.
Betting Against the Favorites
We are betting against Scottie Scheffler (+400) and Rory McIlroy (+625). They might be the hottest golfers in the world, but based on their statistics, their 2024 PGA Championship odds aren’t worth taking. Scheffler has been on a tear to start the year, but that’s nothing unusual. He always plays well from February to April, but he has yet to win a PGA Tour tournament post-April.
“I love winning,” Scheffler said after winning the 2024 Masters. “I hate losing. Really do. And when you’re here in the biggest moments, when I’m sitting there with the lead on Sunday, I really, really want to win badly.”
That should be a huge concern for anyone looking at taking the short odds. Although he’s playing too well to go winless for the rest of 2024, the stats don’t lie. We believe he will win again in 2024, but the odds are far too short, and we’re prepared to stick to our guns.
McIlroy hasn’t won a major since 2014, and that betting trend speaks for itself. Moreover, he won last week, but he is a four-time winner of that tournament, he’s not a four-time winner at Valhalla.

There are big doubts about his form in the majors, and he didn’t face an overly hard field last week. Furthermore, notable competitors like Scheffler or LIV players were absent; adding them to the mix would make it challenging for the second favorite to win.
We’re happy to stick our necks out and lay Scheffler and McIlroy. Golf trends are worth noting, and there is better value with other players at the 2024 PGA Championship.
