Big Bets for Scheffler to Lock Up Charles Schwab
2024 Charles Schwab Challenge Odds Peg Top Golfer

Scottie Scheffler looks to get back to winning form this week at the signature PGA Tour event. The 2024 Charles Schwab Challenge odds have him at +250, which is about as short as it gets with golf betting markets. However, with the likes of Collin Morikawa and Jordan Spieth in the field, it won’t be easy for Scheffler.
Scheffler Has Something to Prove
The world’s best golfer has not won a PGA Tour tournament post-April in his career. But he doesn’t get a better chance than at the Charles Schwab Challenge.
The PGA Championship leaderboard didn’t feature Scheffler at the top, which was mostly due to a terrible Round 3. He didn’t have his usual caddy, and perhaps the adrenaline of being arrested the day prior had finally caught up to him. However, Scheffler is still easily the best player in the world, and he would love the get the monkey off his back.
Not having a win post-April isn’t a good look, and although he has been close to winning in the later months, he hasn’t been able to crack it. Given the way he bounced back on Sunday to shoot a low score, we’re happy to take his 2024 Charles Schwab Challenge odds.
The +250 is short, but if he’s anywhere near the top of the leaderboard on Thursday, he should have too much class on the weekend.
Morikawa Making Moves
It was good to see Collin Morikawa back to his best at the PGA Championship. The American, who is a multiple major winner, had a chance to win on the final day but he didn’t play well enough down the stretch. However, it’s a sign of things to come for the 27-year-old, who has time on his side. He believes his best game isn’t there right now, which is a scary thought.
“Look, to win a major championship, you’ve got to have your solid golf game,” Morikawa said following the PGA Championship. “People talk about winning with their B game, C game, A game. Felt like even though I’ve been putting the results together, it still feels like I’m playing with a C to B game.”
If he brings anything close to his A game, he has a great chance at +1200. His golf odds are worth snapping up, and he only needs to roll in a few putts to go close.
Homa Needs to Hone In
We have been a touch disappointed with Max Homa’s PGA Tour schedule results, but he could bounce back to victory. The 33-year-old came onto the big stage a couple of years ago when winning five tournaments from 2021-2023, including the Wells Fargo Championship and Farmers Insurance Open.
He hasn’t won for over 16 months, which is a concern. However, he’s too good to ignore, and bettors get +2200 with 2024 Charles Schwab Challenge odds.
Homa finished T35 last week, which followed a T8 at the Wells Fargo. That was a solid effort at Quail Hollow, which is a course he plays well at. He’s used to being the funny guy on X (formerly Twitter), but we would love to see Homa focus more on his game. He’s good enough to beat the best in the world, and bettors are getting frustrated with his results.
We’re giving him one more chance this week.
Value with Straka
Sepp Straka can’t be overlooked at +4000, which is a generous price for the Austrian. The 31-year-old failed to make the cut at Valhalla after shooting +2, which was a disappointing effort. His form prior had been excellent, including a T8 at the Wells Fargo, T5 at the RBC Heritage, and a top 20 finish at The Masters.
Producing those levels of results is good enough to take note of his value odds, and we’re happy to include him in our golf picks.
Straka is a two-time PGA Tour winner, having taken out the 2022 Honda Classic and 2023 John Deere Classic. The Charles Schwab Challenge is a harder tournament, but the odds are too juicy to pass up.
