Kim Tops Sony Open Outright Bets

The PGA Tour is Back with a Bang

The Sony Open is the next stop on the PGA Tour and sensation Tom Kim headlines Sony Open outrights bets.

The South Korean golfer is one of the shining lights on the tour and bettors shouldn’t be surprised by the odds.

Hawaii is a great setting for world-class golf and it should be a tight contest. Our golf picks this week include Kim and also some golfers who are overdue a winning performance.

Confidence Key for Kim

Kim is one of the more confident players on the PGA Championship and his short game is outstanding, which is always needed to win – just ask Collin Morikawa.

The 20-year-old is already a two-time winner on the tour, including the Shriners Children’s Open last year where he defeated a quality field, so he’s not just winning the end-of-year tournaments.

He has handled the fame and expectations with style and he showed his class when walking to see an injured Will Zalatoris at the President’s Cup.

“Tom came 40 yards off the tee to come over and say hi and check in on me, and I’m like, Dude, you’re playing in the Golf Presidents Cup. You don’t need to say hi to me,” Zalatoris said.

“So that pretty much sums him up. He’s so good for us. He’s such a great dude, and I look forward to playing some games with him at home.”

Our Sony Open outright bets have Kim winning at +1200. It’s a fair price given his recent form, which includes a T5 finish at the Tournament of Champions.

Knox to Blow Them Out

Golf is one of the rare betting sports which allows bettors to take a risk and still profit.

Safer bets are excellent options, so we’re including Russell Knox and PGA betting odds have the Scotsman at +10,000.

It’s a huge price for a golfer with two PGA Tour wins next to his name, and although his most recent win came in 2016, we’re not sleeping on him.

He closed 2022 with some solid performances, including a T21 at the RSM Classic, so he’s over the odds. Knox also has an HSBC Champions win on his record, so he has beaten high-quality fields.

It’s a huge risk but a small wager wouldn’t go astray and he’s one of our Sony Open outrights bets.

Spieth Circling

Jordan Spieth isn’t far off posting his 14th PGA Tour win after a solid showing at the Golf Tournament of Champions last week.

The American had some struggles from 2017 to 2021, but he has won twice since then and 2023 could be a big year for the superstar.

He didn’t follow up his 2017 Open Championship win with anything for four years, but after posting wins in the Valero Texas Open and RBC Heritage, his confidence returned.

He’s not at his brilliant best, which is hard to get back to, but Spieth should see the Sony Open as a tournament there for the taking. It’s not the best field he’s ever faced, especially with Kim the current favorite.

If Spieth plays solidly, the +1600 odds will shorten significantly throughout the week.

Money Comes for Davis

Cameron Davis opened at +3500 before shortening to +3000, so there is market confidence for the Australian and he’s featured in our Sony Open outrights bets.

Davis is a one-time PGA Tour winner when taking out the 2021 Rocket Mortgage Classic and he shouldn’t be too far away from another win.

‘Countryman Adam Scott should also be right around the mark. He played well enough last week, and although he didn’t fully fire on the weekend, he got off to an impressive start.’

Not much phases Scott, so he’s always worth having on your ticket. Scott is a +3500 chance with bookmakers, so include both Australians on your Sony US Open tickets.
