LIV Tour: Johnson Tops Bedminster Golf Betting

The LIV has a High-Quality Field at Trump National

The LIV Golf Tour is picking up traction and the Bedminster golf tournament has attracted a better field than the PGA Tour.

Dustin Johnson headlines the field at +550 to win at Trump National and he’s closely followed by The Scientist Bryson DeChambeau.

With players such as Abraham Ancer, Patrick Reed, Brooks Koepka, and Kevin Na in the field, we can’t wait to see what happens over the 54 holes.

Favorite Tough to Hold Out

Johnson has been the favorite for every LIV Golf event, and although yet to win, he’s playing good enough golf.

The former top-ranked player, with two majors under his belt, is favored to win following a T6 finish at the Open Championship behind Cameron Smith.

It was another top finish for the American, who has clearly been the best LIV-performed golfer in the majors since they made the move.

The Bedminster golf tournament has a tough field, so he needs to play well; however, he should enjoy the 54-hole format and he’s looking to refute analysts’ comments about him.

Former pro and Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley doesn’t see Johnson putting in the work.

“I don’t see the body of work going in for the reasons that he’s gone to the LIV tour and he’s playing over there — this is not an anti-LIV statement — but when he’s going over there and playing in these three tournaments, shotgun starts, it’s a completely different vibe,” McGinley told Golf.com.

Golf betting odds are favorable for Johnson backers and we’re happy to recommend taking the current odds.

Garcia Ready for Success

The most recent win on the PGA Tour for Sergio Garcia came at the 2020 Sanderson Farms Championship, so he’s overdue a win.

The Spanish superstar has 36 wins in his professional career and he’d love to add the Bedminster golf title to his record.

He has been playing well enough to be considered at generous odds. The sportsbook has Garcia at +2500 to win, which is well worth taking and he’s used to playing at Trump National.

He played well at the Open Championship, so he comes into the LIV golf league in excellent form and he could lead after the first round and kick clear on the weekend.

Big Bomber Bryson

We think the quality of golf from Bryson DeChambeau has decreased since he became a big hitter, but he performed highly at the Open Championship.

Given his dedication to golf, we were surprised to see him join the LIV league; however, it’s about time he turned his big drives into scoring opportunities, otherwise, he’ll become a sideshow.

We all love seeing him hit big drives, but it was his craftiness around the greens that attracted golf fans in the first place. He was named ‘The Scientist’ but now he’s just a beefed-up bomber.

Despite his golf career seemingly going backward, we fancy his chances of winning the Bedminster golf tournament this week. He comes off a T8 finish at The Open and if he stays injury free, he should start contesting for the win in LIV tournaments.

He’s on the second line of betting for the Bedminster golf tournament at +800 and there is enough value in that price for the American.
