Old Heads Headline Betting Odds QBE Shootout

The PGA Tour Pairs Competition

The Betting Odds QBE Shootout have been released and it’s Jason Day and Billy Horschel leading the way at +450.

Experience often helps in the pairs golf contest and it’s a wide-open market with seven teams listed at below +1000.

There are some quality teams in the mix, including Homa/Kisner and English/Kuchar.

Two-Time Winners Return

Harris English and Matt Kuchar are two-time winners of the QBE Shootout and there’s no reason to jump off their backs.

The 2016 and 2020 champions aren’t playing at their best individually, but that doesn’t often mean much in this format.

Betting Odds QBE Shootout have the experienced American duo at +700, which is a fair price and we thought they would be shorter with bookmakers.

Kuchar is one of the more steady golfers on the PGA Tour. He hasn’t won an individual event for some time but the smooth-swinging player loves team golf and his attitude often gets it done in this event.

Theegala Seeks First Win

Sahith Theegala has yet to win on the PGA Tour, but the maiden win could come in the QBE Shootout alongside Tom Hoge.

Theegala has been close to breaking through, but the younger players often win in the lesser-known events, so this is right up his alley.

He recently talked about the LIV Golf drama and he wishes to play against the best players in the world.

“The unfortunate thing is all the top players in the world aren’t playing together anymore,” Theegala said. “Like we all want to play with Cam [Smith] and (Dustin Johnson) and those guys that are some of the best players in the world and there’s no denying that, so it’s unfortunate that the talent pool’s split a little bit, but I really never give it any thought other than when I’m asked questions about it.”

He also gets to play with Hoge, who won the 2022 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in February, so he’s confident and good enough to win twice on the PGA Tour.

Bettors get +550 for the second favorite in Betting Odds QBE Shootout markets, which is worth including in golf selections. They are good players and easily good enough to combine well and score the win.

Overdue Win for Day?

Jason Day has battled injuries throughout his career and we didn’t think we’d ever see him favorite to win a tournament ever again.

The Australian hasn’t won since 2018 when taking out the Wells Fargo Championship. However, with Horschel playing alongside him, they’re the current PGA Tour odds favorites to win the QBE Shootout.

Day and Horschel are custodians of the PGA championship odds, and although lacking recent form, they are quality players in their own right when it comes to golf betting.

Horschel has been vocal off the course this year, but he’d love to let his game do the talking at a tournament hosted by Greg Norman, who is the main reason for his off-course drama in 2022.

They are paying +450 to win, which is short, but worth including.
