Is There Any Slowing Down Scheffler?
The best golfer since Tiger Woods is Scheffler, and he eyes his second major championship of the year.
He finally broke the post-April win drought at The Memorial when holding out Collin Morikawa, and that’s ideal form entering the second major of the year.
The 27-year-old has earned praise from his competitors, including friend Tom Kim.
“It’s not luck and it’s not just a run,” Kim said. “It’s a consistency that’s unbelievable. He gets better every day. He’s Tiger-esque.”
Golf betting odds have Scheffler at a short price, but it’s justified. He’s playing the best golf of any player on the PGA Tour, and although Morikawa has been close on a couple of occasions this year, he hasn’t been able to peg Scheffler back.
Our only concern is taking +280 for a golf tournament. Anything can happen over the course of four days, but leaving him out of selections isn’t the smartest pick.
Scheffler is our top choice, and if he starts well on Thursday, the odds will only shorten.
Morikawa Stalking, Ready to Win
He confesses to not playing his best golf, but Collin Morikawa is threatening to score an overdue win.
After many top finishes in 2024, including a great effort at The Masters and finishing one shot behind Scheffler at The Memorial, the horizon is bright.
The two-time major winner has been right near the top of the PGA leaderboard, and we think he deserves a win.
An errant tee shot cost him a chance of victory on Sunday, but he’s still one of the best ball strikers on the PGA Tour.
His 2024 U.S. Open golf odds of +1400 are excellent. He should give bettors a good sight, and that’s all you can ask when betting on golf.
We expect his odds to shorten throughout the week. Everyone saw how well he played at The Memorial, and he’s not playing much worse than Scheffler.
Aberg Getting Back to His Best
Ludvig Aberg has been battling injuries since going close at The Masters, but he played well enough last week.
The Swedish 24-year-old finished T5 at The Memorial, and that’s a step in the right direction.
Despite not having much experience playing courses like Pinehurst, that hasn’t bothered him in the past.
He is a PGA Tour winner, and some of his best efforts have come at the majors. That’s a good sign despite missing the cut at the PGA Championship, which he was responded to questions about.
“It could have been [a reality check], I guess,” Aberg said. “I mean, I had a great experience at the Masters and I got to experience the other side of the spectrum at the PGA. Look, there’s going to be ups and downs in golf, and I’m okay with that. Everyone who has played the game knows it can’t be perfect all the time.”
There were rumors about a possible torn meniscus, but he should be fit and ready to fire at the U.S. Open, so his 2024 U.S. Open golf odds are worth snapping up.

Can Thomas Turn Back Time?
Justin Thomas has been well below his best, but we’re giving the former top professional one last chance.
The 31-year-old hasn’t played well since being filmed for Full Swing, and we’re not sure if there is any correlation. However, he needs to get back to his best.
It’s not easy to be good at golf and remain good. That’s the struggle Thomas is going through, much like his good friends Jordan Spieth and Rickie Fowler.
He’s no longer the new breed of golfers, and he’s in danger of getting left behind. However, he’s still a quality player, and we’re happy to back him.
