Life is Good at Horse Racing Saratoga Betting

$1 million on the Line

The Grade I Whitney Stakes headline horse racing Saratoga on Saturday, where race-favorite, Life is Good is all the rage in betting markets.

Trained by Todd Pletcher, the 4-year-old colt looks to add win number eight to his already impressive record.

Horse racing betting odds have Life is Good at -120, so he has been well-backed to secure the horse racing Saratoga main event.

Favorite Ready to Fire

Life is Good is an extremely good thoroughbred and WinStar Farm has been eyeing the Whitney Stakes all preparation.

The son of Into Mischief is already a winner of the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile and Pegasus World Cup, so the class is on his side.

“The Whitney is the premier older horse race in the country other than the Breeders’ Cup Classic,” Elliott Walden, CEO for WinStar Farm told Blood-Horse. “We’ve been pointing for this race, and it’s been circled on his schedule for a long time since we started thinking about running him in 2022.”

He hasn’t raced since taking out the John A. Nerud at Belmont Stakes last month when beating Speaker’s Corner and Repo Rocks, so the form stacks up and he deserves to be the favorite for the horse racing Saratoga feature.

Pletcher is happy with his runner but is weary of second favorite Olympiad, who has been well-backed with horse racing best odds.

“He’s always trained so impressively and won the Pegasus at a mile and an eighth, so I’m confident he’ll handle the distance,” said Pletcher. “But Olympiad is on a hot streak and is a very good horse. It should be a great race.”

Olympiad Seeking Gold

One of the hottest runners going around is Olympiad, who is gunning for his sixth consecutive win.

The rising star finished fourth in the Cigar Mile before winning in allowance company at Gulfstream Park. However, he has since added a Grade III and three Grade II races to his record.

The son of Speightstown comes off a win in the Stephen Foster, so the form checks out and he’s being respected in horse racing betting markets at +320.

He’s the biggest threat to Life is Good and they could pair off down the Saratoga stretch and have the race between themselves.

Highest Rating for Hot Rod

Hot Rod Charlie has the highest rating of any runner in the Whitney Stakes and he has formed around the best in the business.

The Doug O’Neill-trained runner won at Meydan in Dubai before placing in the Dubai World Cup behind Country Grammer. It’s one of the hardest races in the world, so bettors should respect the horse racing Saratoga third favorite.

He also has second placings in the Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes, so arguably he should be the favorite to beat Life is Good and Olympiad.

“He is still a very popular horse,” owner William Strauss said. “Everywhere we go, he just captures the public’s fancy. People see he is a blue-collar horse. He doesn’t have the greatest breeding, not the most expensive horse ($110,000 at the 2019 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Fall Yearling Sale), yet when you put him on the racetrack, he gives you his all single race.”

Bettors get excellent odds at +600 and we can’t leave him out of selections at the juicy price.
