Copa Del Rey Quarterfinals Odds & Quarterfinals Matchups

Barcelona and Real Madrid Favored in Last Eight Matchups

New Copa Del Rey Champion to be Crowned

All eight teams left in Spain’s Copa del Rey are La Liga teams. That means the quarterfinals should produce some high-level matchups. Looking at the slate, two fixtures certainly catch the eye. Real Madrid host Atletico Madrid in another edition of the Derbi Madrileño.

Meanwhile, La Liga leaders Barcelona take on third place Real Sociedad in an excellent quarterfinals La Liga matchup. We’ll take a look at all the tournament has to offer this week and the Copa del Rey quarterfinals odds. At the very least, a new champion will be crowned this year as Real Betis exited in the round of 16.

Quarterfinals Matchups:

BARBarcelona vs Real SociedadRSO:

Date & Time:

FC Barcelona are now unbeaten in their last eleven matches in all competitions after defeating Getafe CF 1-0 on Sunday. The Catalan club decimated lower league AD Ceuta in the Copa del Rey round of 16, 5-0. Barcelona are the most successful club in the history of the Copa Del Rey, with 31 titles.

Still, they face quite a tough test vs an in-form Real Sociedad on Wednesday. Sociedad have nine straight wins in all competitions and kept shutouts in both of their matches last week.

Heading into the match at the Camp Nou, Barcelona are one-goal favorites. On the back of some excellent form, Sociedad are favorites to keep things close and show -135 odds to cover the spread.

Alexander Sorloth has been on fire lately for the Txuri-Urdin and has already scored three goals in 2023. Sociedad have dropped four straight meetings to Barcelona in all competitions, though, and sit at +450 odds to win this match.

Barça have lost just one match at the Camp Nou this season, to FC Bayern Munich in October. They head into the Copa del Rey quarterfinals as -185 favorites and display -105 odds to cover the spread.

A draw is listed at +295 odds and the match would head into extra time if need be. Notably, Real Sociedad haven’t won any of their last 16 matches vs. Barcelona in 90 minutes, in all competitions. Over 2½ goals are priced at -130 odds for the match and both teams are on double-digit scoring streaks heading into this one.

Should Barcelona and Real Madrid both go through, perhaps punters will be able to take Barcelona vs Real Madrid Copa del Rey odds in the semifinals. However, the fixtures will be subject to a random drawn.

OSAOsasuna vs SevillaSFC:

Date & Time:

CA Osasuna have quietly had an excellent season. The Pamplona club is in seventh place in the La Liga standings, just three points outside of the top four. They also knocked out defending Copa del Rey champions Real Betis in penalties, in the round of 16.

Osasuna players are all over the Copa del Rey leaderboard as well. Kike leads the tournament with five goals and Roberto Torres is the joint-leader in assists, with three. On the other hand, Sevilla backup keeper Marko Dmitrovic has kept four clean sheets thus far and leads the field.

Sevilla have had quite a difficult soccer season to this point, though, and are +210 underdogs heading into Wednesday’s match.

Home side Osasuna sit at +130 odds to cover the ½-goal spread and to win the match. Meanwhile, Sevilla are -150 favorites to cover and draw and win the match. A draw also comes in at relatively short +200 odds for Wednesday’s contest.

Should Osasuna win, it’ll mark their first appearance in the semifinals since they were runners up in the 2004-05 season. Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri is reportedly close to joining Nice in France. It’s doubtful any reinforcements will be coming in time for Wednesday but Rafa Mir figures to get more time now.

Sevilla FC made the semifinals of this competition two years ago and despite their struggles, they’ve still got a talented roster. FIFA World Cup winners Gonzalo Montiel and Marcos Acuna could feature in Wednesday’s cup match. Sevilla are dealing with multiple injuries as well, though. Marcao, Jesus Corona, Thomas Delaney and Papu Gomez are all out. Osasuna have conceded fewer than a goal per game in La Liga this season so it could be hard to break them down. Even so, over two goals shows a -140 price for the match.

VCFValencia vs Athletic BilbaoATH:

Date & Time:

Gennaro Gattuso’s Valencia CF play a La Liga match vs. Almeria on Monday and then take on Athletic Bilbao on Thursday in the Copa del Rey. Outside of the Copa del Rey, neither club has been in particularly good form as of late. Entering Monday, Valencia have won just one of their last five La Liga matches.

The same goes for Athletic Bilbao, who are on a four-game winless run in La Liga. Still, Valencia got here by destroying Sporting Gijon 4-0 last Wednesday. Meanwhile, Bilbao were dominant in their 1-0 win over Espanyol last week.

Despite heading on the road, Bilbao are ever-so-slight favorites. Their moneyline shows +160 Copa del Rey quarterfinals odds, while Valencia are priced at +165 odds to advance to the semis for a second straight season. In this pick’em, Valencia sit at -110 odds to cover, while Athletic Club display -115 odds. A draw isn’t at all an unlikely outcome and it can be found at a +200 price.

In fact, five of the last seven meetings between these teams have finished in 90 minute draws. Each of the last six fixtures has also finished with two or fewer goals.

Valencia have scored seven goals in their first two Copa del Rey matches, though. Edinson Cavani was on target twice in Valencia’s 4-0 win last week and Justin Kluivert has also scored in both Copa del Rey matches so far. Bilbao have often struggled for goals as of late, though.

Real Madrid shut them out 2-0 on Sunday and they’ve failed to score in three of their last six matches, in all

RMAReal Madrid vs Atletico MadridATM:

Date & Time:

The match of the quarterfinals is undoubtedly Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid. It’s not often we get to see a Madrid derby in the Copa del Rey, as the last meeting in the competition was in 2015. In a two-leg format, Atletico advanced after winning 4-2 on aggregate.

This time around, a single match will decide who advances. Real almost didn’t make it here in the first place. They completed a two-goal comeback to defeat Villarreal 3-2 in round of 16 last week. It’s been smooth sailing for Atletico, though, and they won 2-0 vs. Levante in the round of 16.

When these teams met earlier in the season, Real Madrid managed a 2-1 win on the road. Playing at home, Los Blancos are now -120 ATS and moneyline favorites according to the Copa del Rey quarterfinals odds. Atletico Madrid defeated Valladolid 3-0 in La Liga on Saturday and haven’t missed a beat with Joao Felix off to Chelsea FC.

They come in at +105 odds to cover the ½-goal spread and show +290 odds to win the match. However, they haven’t won at the Santiago Bernabeu since 2016. The last time these teams met in the Copa del Rey at the Santiago Bernabeu, the match finished in a draw. Another draw is priced at +245 odds here.

Real Madrid enter this match with a few injuries and it’ll be interesting to see how Carlo Ancelotti decides to rotate his squad. They’re currently three points behind Barcelona in La Liga and are challenging in three different competitions.

David Alaba, Dani Carvajal, Eden Hazard, Lucas Vázquez and Aurelien Tchouameni are all expected to be on the sidelines for this one. Atletico’s Marcos Llorente is unlikely to play after being subbed off with an injury on Saturday.

Both Toni Kroos and Luka Modric came off the bench for Real on Sunday so it’s possible that one or both of them start here. Regardless, under 2½ goals displays -125 odds for the match.
