Copa del Rey Semi-Final Odds: Leg 2

Finalists to be Decided Next Week

Osasuna and Barcelona Hold Advantages

Following the weekend’s La Liga Matchday 27 slate, all eyes in Spanish football will turn to the Copa del Rey Semi-Final. In the first leg, Osasuna picked up a 1-0 home win over Athletic Club. Meanwhile, Barcelona managed a 1-0 road win over bitter rivals Real Madrid. Barça and Osasuna have one foot in the final, and next year’s Supercopa de España. However, a lot can change come next week. One thing to note is that the away goals rule was scrapped last year. So, if the fixtures finish level on aggregate, they’ll go directly into extra time. That said, let’s take a closer look at the Copa del Rey Semi-Final odds and preview these decisive matches.

Semifinals Matches

ATH Athletic Club vs Osasuna OSA

Date & Time:
First Leg Score: Athletic Club (0) – (1) Osasuna

Athletic Club are the second-most successful club in the history of the Copa del Rey. Still, they’ll take a deficit into the second leg. Ernesto Valverde’s side have made the final in two of the last three years, and a one-goal win would force extra time.

Athletic managed a 3-1 win over Valladolid in their last La Liga match and take on Getafe on Saturday, before Tuesday’s match. Heading into this one, either team could reasonably qualify. Bilbao come in at -105 odds to advance to the final, while upstart Osasuna sit at -125 Copa del Rey Semi-Final odds odds to go through. An extra time match is somewhat likely, as Bilbao show -155 ATS and moneyline odds as 0.5-goal favorites.

Osasuna have managed to avoid defeat in four of their last five trips to the San Mames, though. A draw is all Los Rojillos need to advance and one shows +265 odds. They also come in at +125 odds to cover. While Osasuna are still in the top half of the La Liga table, they’ve struggled lately. Following their 1-0 win over Athletic in the first leg, Osasuna have failed to score a goal in their last three games.

In fact, they’ve scored the joint third-fewest goals in La Liga this season. They have frequently gotten results on the back of a strong defense. Leading scorer Chimy Avila could miss this match, as he’s dealing with a leg issue. It’d be a big blow but expect Kike, who has scored five Copa del Rey goals, to get another opportunity.

Both Nico Williams and Alex Berenguer have found the net for Athletic three times in the Copa del Rey. Athletic will certainly need to get on the board here to stay alive. Over two goals for the match display -145 Copa del Rey odds.

Notably, Athletic have failed to score in three of their last four matches in all competitions, though. Osasuna will defend with all they’ve got and Los Rojillos are +475 underdogs to go on and win the match. Tuesday’s game should be highly entertaining as both sides could conceivably go through.

BAR Barcelona vs Real Madrid RMA

Date & Time:
First Leg Score: Barcelona (1) – (0) Real Madrid

After falling to Real Madrid 3-1 last October, Barcelona have now won the last three Clasicos. Barça defeated Los Blancos twice in March, with a 1-0 win in the first leg of the Semi-Final at the Santiago Bernabeu and a 2-1 triumph at the Camp Nou in La Liga.

Xavi’s Barcelona have won their last four matches, in all competitions, and conceded just one goal in the process. With a 12-point lead in the title race, Barcelona can afford to rest their starters at Elche over the weekend before their meeting with Real in one of the best Copa del Rey fixtures in recent memory.

That could also give time for injured players like Ousmane Dembele, Pedri and Ronald Araujo to recover in time for Wednesday. While Real are down and most likely out in La Liga, expect Los Blancos to be highly motivated here. They haven’t lost three consecutive Clasicos since 2009-10 and certainly won’t want to drop a fourth straight.

Carlo Ancelotti will have to figure out a sustainable rotation over the next few weeks as Real juggle La Liga, the Copa del Rey and Champions League. The oddsmakers aren’t giving Real much of a shot to qualify for the final as they sit at +325 odds to advance. Meanwhile, Barcelona come in at -450 odds to get to the Copa del Rey final.

Barça are ½-goal favorites for this one but sit at +120 ATS and moneyline odds. A draw will do for the Catalan club and it displays +245 odds. The Copa del Rey Semi-Final odds price Real Madrid at +220 to win the match and Real ½ at -150.

Eight of the last nine meetings have finished with three or more goals and over 2.5 are priced at -120 odds for this one. It’s up to Karim Benzema and Vinicius Jr. to swing the fixture back into Los Blancos’ favor but Barcelona’s stingy defense certainly won’t make it easy.
