La Liga: Barcelona vs Sevilla Odds, Preview
UCL Sides Meet in La Liga

Barcelona Take La Liga Lead
With an incredible 3-2 comeback win over Celta Vigo and Real Madrid’s loss to Atletico Madrid, Barcelona took the La Liga lead last weekend. The defending champions and Sevilla, who are playing on Friday, were both in action on Tuesday. At Mallorca, Barcelona drew 2-2 as they pulled off a comeback. Sevilla hosted Almeria and managed an important 5-1 win. Now, we’ll review the Barcelona vs Sevilla odds for Friday’s match as the two Champions League sides face off.
Barcelona vs Sevilla Head-to-Head:
Sevilla’s last road win at Barcelona was all the way back in 2002. They’ve also failed to defeat Barcelona in a La Liga match since October 2015. Last season, the La Liga scores in this fixture were 3-0 in favor of Barcelona in both games. Sevilla has scored just once in their last six matches vs. Barcelona, in all competitions. Barcelona have won each of the last three meetings and outscored Sevilla 7-0 during that time.
FCB Conceding at Concerning Rate
Barcelona took the lead in the La Liga standings following Saturday’s win but there’s certainly a lot of room for improvement. FCB fell behind vs. Celta Vigo last weekend in the 19th minute as Jorgen Strand Larsen scored the opening goal. On an excellent pass from Iago Aspas, Anastasios Douvikas doubled Celta’s lead with just 15 minutes to play.
Things looked bleak for Barça as they still trailed with just 10 minutes of normal time to play. Then, Robert Lewandowski managed to score twice in quick succession and Joao Cancelo scored the game-winner. On Tuesday, Barcelona once again fell behind at Mallorca as FCB goalie Marc-Andre ter Stegen misplaced a pass in a dangerous area. Raphinha scored on a powerful strike to level the match but Abdon Prats scored a second goal for Mallorca just before the half.
In the second half, Barcelona substitute Fermin Lopez scored his first goal for the senior team and leveled the match. Barcelona came away from Mallorca with a point and were still on top of the La Liga table by the end of Tuesday.
However, Barça have conceded twice in each of their last two matches and have had to play catch up in both. Barcelona have underperformed their soccer lines in their last two matches, as they failed to cover the spread in both. Regardless, Lewandowski has been a standout, with five goals and three assists through seven matches.
Sevilla Destroy Almeria
Sevilla entered last weekend with just a 1-3 record in La Liga and drew their first Champions League match at home to Lens. At Osasuna on Saturday, Sevilla couldn’t manage to find a breakthrough and the match finished scoreless. Tuesday’s win was a much-needed one for Los Nervionenses.
Youssef En-Nesyri scored a header in the seventh minute and Dodi Lukebakio scored his second goal as a member of Sevilla just a minute later. Sevilla went into halftime with a 3-0 lead. Erik Lamela put the game well beyond reach in the 51st minute and Sevilla came away with a 5-1 win.
Even so, the Barcelona vs Sevilla odds price Sevilla as +730 underdogs heading into Friday’s match. Sevilla has quite a few players on the sidelines, as Mariano, Sergio Ramos, Marcos Acuña, Marcao, and Tanguy Nianzou are all injured. Sevilla are yet to win an away match this season and were in 11th place in La Liga as of Wednesday morning.
Barcelona vs Sevilla Match Analysis & Odds
Sevilla’s away form vs. Barcelona has been dreadful and the odds for the match certainly reflect that. The Barcelona vs Sevilla odds list hosts Barça as -285 favorites as they go for a fourth straight win at home to open up the season. Barcelona are 1.5-goal favorites as well and they show -110 odds to cover the spread.
For Friday’s match, Sevilla +1.5 also comes in at -110 odds but they lost 3-0 to Barcelona in both matches last season. Still, Barcelona’s midfield is considerably weakened for this one as Pedri and Frenkie de Jong are injured.
None of the last nine meetings between these teams have finished with more than three goals but over three goals sit at -130 odds for this one. Bettors can also take a draw at +445 odds for this one.
