Valencia vs Real Madrid Odds & Preview

La Liga Leaders Head to Valencia

Valencia’s First Match in Two Weeks

Valencia’s match vs. Granada last Friday was postponed due to a tragic fire in the city which left 10 people dead. Los Murcielagos will return to action on Saturday, when they host Real Madrid in a La Liga match. Real are the current La Liga leaders and haven’t lost a league match for over five months. Valencia, who have certainly had their moments this season, will look to change that this weekend. Ahead of Saturday’s match, we’ll check out the Valencia vs Real Madrid odds.

Valencia vs Real Madrid Head-to-Head

Valencia have won just two of their last 11 matches vs. Real Madrid, in all competitions. In the reverse fixture, Real Madrid demolished Valencia 5-1 as Rodrygo and Vinicius Jr. both scored twice. Still, Valencia did grab a 1-0 win over Real at the Mestalla last season and have won two of the last three at home. Real have averaged 2.6 goals per game over the last five La Liga meetings.

Valencia Getting Results at Home

Valencia had the better spells of play in their last match vs. Sevilla but couldn’t manage to get on the scoresheet. Between a penalty shout, great saves from Sevilla keeper Orjan Nyland and some near-misses, Valencia had to settle for a scoreless draw. Valencia’s request to postpone last Friday’s match at Granada was granted and they’ll be at two weeks without a match by the time this one rolls around. Valencia currently sit in ninth place in the Spanish La Liga standings and are within reach of European competition.

With a game in hand, Valencia are just four points behind seventh-placed Real Sociedad. Bettors should be aware that Valencia haven’t lost a home match in La Liga since late September. So, they’re unbeaten in their last eight La Liga games at the Mestalla but this will arguably be their toughest test of the season. Goals have been somewhat hard to come by for Los Murcielagos, as they’ve failed to score in three of their last four games.

Still, Valencia’s improvement this season is clear to see. They’re only six points away from matching last season’s total and have 13 games left to play. Hugo Duro has been the main man for Valencia, with 10 goals and two assists in La Liga. Key winger Diego Lopez is doubtful for this one while Thierry Correia looks set to miss out. Even though they’re playing at home, the Valencia vs Real Madrid odds price Valencia as +440 underdogs.

Real Unbeaten in Last 20 in La Liga

The last 20 La Liga matches on Real Madrid’s schedule have finished with Los Blancos either taking all three points or getting a draw. Atletico Madrid remain the only team to take down Real Madrid in any competition this season and Real hold a six point lead in the La Liga title race. Last time out, Real hosted Sevilla and looked to have taken a lead 10 minutes in. However, Real Madrid’s goal was called back for a foul in the build up.

Luka Modric ended up turning back the clock and scoring the winner for Real in the 81st minute. Modric hasn’t received much playing time recently but the 38-year old midfielder can still put in a shift. Real were also going through a defensive injury crisis a few weeks ago but now have Nacho and Antonio Rudiger back. At the moment, the La Liga odds list Real as -5000 favorites to win the title.

Andriy Lunin deserves a lot of praise for how he’s made the goalkeeper position his own with Thibaut Courtois out. Courtois tore his ACL in August but has returned to partial training. David Alaba is out for the season with the same injury, while Eder Militao could return from his ACL injury before the end of the season. La Liga leading scorer Jude Bellingham is dealing with a sprained ankle, while striker Joselu could also miss this one.

Valencia vs Real Madrid Match Analysis & Odds

The last match Jude Bellingham played, Real Madrid scored four unanswered goals vs. Girona. Since then, he’s missed three matches and Real have only scored one goal in each. Still, that’s led to two wins and a draw and Los Blancos seem to be able to grind out results even when they’re not at their best or healthiest. Here, the Valencia vs Real Madrid odds list visitors Real as -155 favorites.

Still, Real have won just one of their last five matches on the road vs. Valencia, who are a tough team to beat this season. Bettors who think the recent trends in this fixture will continue might want to place a bet on Valencia +0.5, +1 at even odds. The hosts are also +440 underdogs even though they’re 3-1-1 in their last five La Liga home matches vs. Real.

Valencia also haven’t lost at home for over five months and this should be an intriguing match to watch. With Joselu and Bellingham potentially out, Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo become ever more important. The duo has combined for 15 La Liga goals this season. Bettors can also consider Real -0.5, -1 at -120 and a draw at +290. Under 2.5 goals come in at -120 odds and four of Real’s last five La Liga matches have finished with two goals or fewer.
