Navas Keeps the Ball Rolling
Keylor Navas, the iconic goalkeeper, isn’t hanging up his gloves just yet! After a banging international career in which he did whatever he wished with the scores and odds, he’s reportedly heading to Mexico’s Liga MX to up those Liga MX odds. In soccer betting news just out of the oven, rumor has it that Navas looks to be sliding over to the Liga MX to join Club Leon -the 2023 CONCACAF Champions League winners.
A Star from the Start
Beating all regular soccer predictions, Navas kicked off his career with Costa Rican Club Deportivo Saprissa in 2005, grabbing five domestic titles and a CONCACAF Champions League win by defeating Pumas UNAM in Mexico City. His heroics earned him a move to Europe in 2010 with Spanish side Albacete.
After two seasons with Albacete, Navas transferred to Levante, where he quickly became one of La Liga’s top keepers. His stellar performances earned him a nomination for the 2013 Goalkeeper of the Year and won the award in 2014.
Real Madrid Magic
2014 was Navas’ breakout year. After a stellar World Cup with Costa Rica, he joined Real Madrid. Despite initial doubts and attempts to replace him, Navas secured his spot under Rafa BenÃtez and Zinedine Zidane. He helped Real Madrid win three consecutive Champions League titles, becoming a fan favorite and the first Costa Rican to win the prestigious trophy.
Paris Success and Premier League Stint
In 2019, Navas moved to Paris Saint-Germain, winning three Ligue 1 titles. However, the arrival of Gianluigi Donnarumma relegated him to a backup role. In 2023, Navas was loaned to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
Navas to Liga MX? New Challenge in Mexico
At 37, Navas announced his departure from PSG, signaling the end of his 14-year European career. As a free agent, he is now reportedly close to signing with Club Leon in Mexico. If the transfer materializes, he will replace Rodolfo Cota as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper and join forces with Mexican superstar Andres Guardado in the Liga MX teams. The Navas to Liga MX rumor is a real stunner!
