Lens vs Brest Odds, Ligue 1 Match Preview
Champions League Hopefuls Face Off

Brest Unbeaten in Last 13 Ligue 1 Matches
Brest have been one of the biggest surprises in Europe this season. The club from Brittany is in second place in Ligue 1 and on a 13 game unbeaten run. Meanwhile, Lens are just three points outside of a Champions League place and will head to Brest with a point to prove on Saturday.
Stade Brestois 29 will go for their fourth straight clean sheet and their defense has stepped up in a major way this season. As we gear up for an important Ligue 1 clash, we’ll take a closer look at the Lens vs Brest odds.
Lens vs Brest Head-to-Head
The last 10 meetings between Lens and Brest have been even. Both Ligue 1 teams have won four matches and two games have finished in draws. The reverse fixture was a five goal thriller and Romain Del Castillo scored twice in a 3-2 Brest victory.
The pregame Lens vs Brest odds listed Brest as +255 underdogs. Lens have won three of their last four matches vs Brest at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis, though. Florian Sotoca has scored five goals in eight appearances vs Brest.
Lens Scoring at Improved Clip
RC Lens broke a four game winless streak in all competitions by defeating Lyon 3-0 on the road last Sunday. Lyon had some excellent early counter attacking opportunities but couldn’t capitalize. Lens scored the opener when David Pereira da Costa’s cross found Florian Sotoca’s head in the 43rd minute.
Some sloppy play by Lyon early in the second half led to a giveaway and a Lens shot hit the arm of a defender, which led to a penalty. Elye Wahi scored, which was his fifth goal of the season.
Kevin Danso made it three when he scored an 87th minute header from a corner kick for his first goal of the season. It was a much-needed victory for Lens, who are now just three points behind third-placed Monaco. Lens are in sixth place in the Ligue 1 standings and they’re on a six game league scoring streak.
Pereira da Costa has been one of the best Ligue 1 players in recent weeks.
The Portuguese attacking midfielder/winger has registered six goal contributions in his last six starts in the league. Lens have also averaged two goals per game over their last five matches after only averaging 1.2 per game over their first 19. Despite only making eight Ligue 1 starts, Wesley Said leads Lens with six goals.
On Saturday, Facundo Medina is out suspended for Lens, while Jhoanner Chavez and Massadio Haidara are injured.
Brest: The Real Deal
Brest got their third straight Ligue 1 win when they took down newly promoted Le Havre on Sunday. Pierre Lees-Melou has made a habit of scoring important goals lately and the midfielder scored the game’s only goal vs Le Havre. Brest have now picked up three straight shutout wins in Ligue 1 and have been excellent under Eric Roy this season.
With ten games to go, they are in second place and have a five-point cushion over fourth-placed Lille in the Champions League race.
A couple of games ago, Mahdi Camara joined the list of players to register a hat trick. The Brest midfielder scored all three of their goals in the 3-0 win over Strasbourg on February 24th. It was his first career hat trick and he’s been one of their key performers this season, with five goals and two assists.
No Brest players rank in the top ten in Ligue 1 in goals but Romain Del Castillo ranks eighth, with 10 total goal contributions.
Brest have proven to be the real deal, as they haven’t lost in any of their last 13 Ligue 1 games. That stretch includes a win over Marseille and draws vs PSG and Nice. Defense has been Brest’s strongest point this season, as they’ve only conceded 18 times in 24 matches.
Goalkeeper Marco Bizot has posted an 80.2 save percentage, which is second-best in the league.
Lens vs Brest Match Analysis & Odds
Lens will undoubtedly want to be the team to end Brest’s unbeaten streak once and for all. The hosts are favorites for Saturday’s match but they have less than a 50 percent implied chance to get a win. Lens are +115 favorites and bettors can take Lens pk, -0.5 at -125 odds.
If Brest are able to win this one, it’d be their most impressive road win of the season to date.
The latest Lens vs Brest odds price the visitors as +270 underdogs and they hold a 6-3-3 Ligue 1 road record this season. Brest pk, +0.5 also displays -105 for this one. A draw (+235) is another option but Lens haven’t drawn a Ligue 1 home match since back in October.
Over 2, 2.5 goals show -115 odds but Brest have conceded just one goal in their last five Ligue 1 matches. Neither side has been explosive on offense this season, as they both average fewer than 1.5 goals per game. Plus, neither side has had a prolific goalscorer that can change games this season.
