PSG Get Crucial Win Over Lens

Lyon and Auxerre Put Three Game Win Streaks on Line

With a 3-1 win over Lens, league leaders Paris Saint-Germain are on track to bring home the title. However, they’ll have to defend an eight-point lead with seven games to go. They’ve got a favorable matchup this week as they head to last-placed Angers. As PSG look to win back-to-back titles, Lens, Monaco and Marseille are embroiled in a battle for the last two UEFA Champions League places. Lens and Monaco face off on Saturday and the winner will occupy the third and final Champions League spot, for now. We’ll cover that match and others as we take a closer look at the Ligue 1 Matchday 32 odds.

Match of the Week:

LEN Lens vs Monaco MON

Date & Time:

Despite conceding three goals to PSG last weekend, Lens still have the best defensive record in the league. They’ll once again be tested on Saturday when they come up against AS Monaco. Monaco have averaged over two goals per game and only PSG have scored more than them this season.

Wissam Ben Yedder leads Monaco with 17 goals this season and Breel Embolo has added 12. Embolo didn’t make the squad for Sunday’s 3-1 win over Lorient as he’s dealing with a knee issue. Those interested in betting on Ligue 1 should keep tabs on the Swiss international’s status heading into Saturday’s match.

Lens, who are an excellent 13-1-1 at home this season, enter the match as 0.5-goal favorites. They come in at +105 ATS and moneyline odds to get their fifth win in the last six matches. Impressively, Monaco have lost just one match on the road all season and come in at -135 odds to cover the spread here.

The Monegasques have scored nine goals in their last three matches and show +240 odds to win. Two of the last five meetings between these teams have finished in draws and one displays +270 odds.

In the reverse fixture, Lens picked up a 4-1 win in Monaco. Lens have scored in their last ten Ligue 1 matches and will be confident of getting on the scoresheet again. Lois Openda should lead the line for the hosts and has scored 15 goals this season.

Following a red card vs PSG, Lens midfielder Salis Abdul Samed is suspended for the match, though. With excellent attacking options on both sides, over 2.5 goals sit at -125 odds for Saturday’s crucial match.

Other Important Matches:

ANG Angers vs PSG PSG

Date & Time:

First place takes on last as Paris Saint-Germain head to Angers on Friday. If results don’t go Angers’ way this weekend, they may already clinch relegation to Ligue 2. They’ve also had an incredibly difficult time vs PSG for quite a while.

PSG haven’t lost any of their last 28 games vs Angers, which is their longest-ever unbeaten run vs a single team. Mbappe & Co. have also won their last 15 matches vs Angers, in all competitions. So, it’s no surprise that the Ligue 1 Matchday 32 odds list PSG as 1.5-goal road favorites for Friday’s match.

The reverse fixture finished in a 2-0 win for the Parisians and they’re -135 favorites to cover the spread here. PSG are also priced at -355 odds to get their 24th win of the season. Angers, who have won just three games all season, come in at +105 odds to cover.

They’re also +850 moneyline underdogs but have won and drawn in their last two home matches. Scoring has certainly been a problem for Ligue 1’s last-placed team as they’ve averaged just 0.5 goals per game in their last six. They fell 2-1 to Clermont on Sunday and have conceded in eight of their last nine matches.

Draws have been incredibly rare in this fixture but one displays +500 odds for this Matchday 32 matchup. Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi were both on the scoresheet vs Lens last weekend and could make life hell for Angers defenders.

Reflecting the number of chances that PSG could get in this match, the over/under goal total is currently at 3½. The under sits at -135 odds and Angers could have a lot of absences come Friday. Midfielder Nabil Bentaleb is suspended and Miha Blazic, Cedric Hountondji and Pierrick Capelle may all miss out due to injury.

AUX Auxerre vs Lille LIL

Date & Time:

With three straight wins, Auxerre have escaped the relegation zone and are looking to climb the table further. They head into Matchday 32 in 14th place in the Ligue 1 standings and look like they may survive in their first top flight season since 2011-12.

However, they host a tough opponent on Saturday, in Lille. Lille are currently in fifth place and occupy the UEFA Europa Conference League spot. They’ll look to enter the Champions League conversation in the final weeks of the season by getting results.

Here, Lille are one-goal favorites and did win the reverse fixture, 4-1. Jonathan David scored twice in that match and has been in excellent form. The Canadian is tied with Kylian Mbappe for the most goals in Ligue 1 this season, with 20. His Lille show +120 odds to cover the spread and -145 odds to win on the road.

Lille have won three of their last four matches but did pick up a bad loss to last-placed Angers a couple of weekends ago. Auxerre’s recent wins on their three-game streak have all come vs teams placed 15th or lower.

Defeating Lille will present a much tougher challenge. Auxerre +1 sits at -150 odds but the hosts come in at just +395 moneyline odds to win this match. With Auxerre confined to Ligue 2 for the last decade, these teams haven’t met much recently. However, Auxerre last beat Lille in 2010. A draw is priced at +290 odds for Saturday’s match, while over 2.5 goals show -120 odds.

OL Lyon vs Marseille OM

Date & Time:

Lyon host Marseille on Sunday in another edition of the Choc des Olympiques. Earlier this season, Marseille broke a five-game winless run in this rivalry match by defeating Lyon 1-0. Marseille also occupy a higher position in Ligue 1, as they head into the weekend in second place.

After a rough start to the season, Lyon have picked things up lately. They’ve won their last three matches and are now in seventh place. That includes big wins over PSG and Rennes as Alexandre Lacazette has scored in four of his last five games.

The Ligue 1 Matchday 32 odds imply that Lyon are more likely to win the match than Marseille. However, this match between OL and OM is certainly expected to be close. In this pick’em, Lyon display -130 odds to cover, while Marseille pk sits at even odds.

Lyon, who have averaged two goals per game in their last five matches, are +140 moneyline favorites. Meanwhile, Marseille come in at +170 odds to win the match and a draw shows a +280 price. Incredibly, Marseille haven’t picked up a road win in the Choc des Olympiques since 2007.

This is one of their best opportunities in recent memory as they bring a six-game unbeaten streak into this match. They defeated Troyes 3-1 on Sunday as Vitor Oliveira scored a double. Lyon are also short at the back as Malo Gusto is injured and backup Saël Kumbedi is suspended.

That means they’ll head into the match without a bonafide right back. Although Marseille have conceded under a goal per game this season, over 2.5 goals are priced at -140 odds for Sunday’s derby.
