Monaco vs PSG Betting Lines & Preview
Two of Ligue 1’s Best Face Off

Result Would Boost Monaco’s Champions League Hopes
Two of Ligue 1’s best teams face off on Friday when Monaco host PSG at the Stade Louis II. PSG enter the match in first place in Ligue 1, with 54 points, while Monaco are in third, with 41.
Monaco will be looking for a result as they contest a tight Champions League race and they’ve been rather successful at home vs PSG in recent seasons.
Last time out, PSG drew with Rennes, which broke a five game winning streak. Ahead of the Ligue 1 match of the week, we’ll preview the Monaco vs PSG betting lines and team news.
Monaco vs PSG Head-to-Head
These teams played in a seven goal thriller the last time they met, back in November. PSG, who were 1.5-goal favorites, won 5-2 as they broke a three game winless run in Ligue 1 fixtures vs Monaco.
The pregame Monaco vs PSG betting lines listed the Parisians as -220 favorites. Notably, Monaco have won the last three meetings at the Stade Louis II. Over the last ten matchups, the series is tied 4-4, with two draws.
Monaco Win in Spite of Defense
Following a disappointing home loss to Toulouse, Monaco went on the road to Lens last Sunday. The Monegasques took a two-goal lead in the first half, as Folarin Balogun opened up the scoring and Lens keeper made an own goal error on a Takumi Minamino shot.
Monaco ended up conceding just 90 seconds later, when Elye Wahi halved Monaco’s lead. Wesley Said equalized for Lens in the second half but Minamino scored a massively important stoppage time winner for Monaco.
Concerningly, Monaco have now conceded in 12 straight Ligue 1 games, in all competitions. Radoslaw Majecki made his first start in goal of the season last weekend but the Monegasques still conceded twice. They’ve conceded at least two goals in five of their last six games and have conceded more than any other team in Ligue 1’s top half.
Still, Monaco enter the weekend in third place, just two points behind second-placed Brest. Wissam Ben Yedder has led Monaco this season, with 11 league goals. He currently ranks third in the Ligue 1 stats and he, Minamino and Aleksandr Golovin have all reached 10 goal contributions this season.
After starting the season 6-1 at home in Ligue 1, Monaco have gone 0-1-3 in their last four home matches. They’ll get nowhere near the Champions League if this form continues.
It certainly doesn’t help that midfielder Denis Zakaria is suspended for Friday’s match. Plus, Breel Embolo, Caio Henrique, Krepin Diatta, Vanderson and Ismail Jakobs are all out injured.
PSG Extend Ligue 1 Unbeaten Run
Paris Saint-Germain extended their Ligue 1 unbeaten streak to 18 games vs Rennes on Sunday but they very nearly lost. Rennes’ Amine Gouiri scored a brilliant solo goal in the first half, which stunned PSG.
They were unable to equalize until very late on, when substitute striker Goncalo Ramos won a penalty with some excellent close control. Ramos stepped up to take the penalty and converted and the match finished all square at one.
Even with the draw, PSG hold an 11-point lead at the top of the Ligue 1 table. Kylian Mbappe was relatively quiet vs Rennes but he’s been dominant this season. He’s scored 21 goals in Ligue 1 this season, which is nine more than any other player.
His days in Paris may be limited but he can help produce something special this season. The Parisians are still in contention for all of Ligue 1, the Coupe de France and the UEFA Champions League.
PSG also haven’t lost, in any competition, since early November. Luis Enrique is doing a solid job in his first season as PSG coach. Even though PSG have been playing well, their defensive injuries are a concern.
At the moment, Presnel Kimpembe and Milan Skriniar are out, while Marquinhos is doubtful and he missed the match vs Rennes. If Marquinhos misses this match as well, Enrique could go with Danilo Pereira and Lucas Beraldo in the heart of defense again, with Lucas Hernandez on the left.
Monaco vs PSG Match Analysis & Odds
PSG sit at -15000 outright Ligue 1 odds and that’s not likely to change too much even if they lose this match.
The Parisians have built a healthy cushion and can potentially even afford to rest some of their key players ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League match at Real Sociedad. Still, the Monaco vs PSG betting lines do list visiting Paris Saint-Germain as even-money moneyline favorites.
Monaco’s defensive record in recent weeks is highly concerning and PSG are the most talented attacking Ligue 1 team in the league. Rennes were able to contain Mbappe last weekend but lightning might not strike twice.
Monaco still haven’t kept a clean sheet in 2024 and that’s unlikely to change come Friday. PSG over 1.5 goals sits at -140 odds and over three goals are priced at -120 for this one.
PSG have scored in their last 26 matches and they’ll do all they can to keep their unbeaten run going. Monaco are +230 underdogs for this one and a draw comes in at +295. Meanwhile, bettors can consider Monaco +0.5 at -120 odds but they’ve been disappointing in recent home games.
