Nice vs PSG Head-to-Head

Nice were the first team to defeat Paris Saint-Germain this season. The Nice vs PSG odds listed Nice as +495 pregame underdogs. Since then, PSG took down Nice 3-1 in the Coupe de France Quarter-Finals. Mbappe has scored three times vs. Nice this season. In the last five meetings, in all competitions, PSG are 3-2.

Nice Unbeaten in Last Five

Nice took down Le Havre 1-0 last Friday which marked a fifth straight match unbeaten for Les Aiglons. It was also the 17th clean sheet they’ve kept this season, which leads Ligue 1. Jeremie Boga scored the game’s only goal and it was his sixth of the campaign. Nice are now in fifth place in the Ligue 1 table, four points behind both Brest and Lille. Francesco Farioli’s side have everything to play for in the last two matches of the campaign.

Third place would send Nice through to the Champions League group stage for the first time and fourth would mean they advance to the UCL Qualifiers. At the very least, Nice will play in the UEFA Europa Conference League next season but they’re shooting for more. It is quite remarkable that Nice are in the UCL race given they’ve only scored 1.16 goals per game this season. That ranks 13th in the league but they have compensated with the league’s best defense.

Dante may be 40 years old but the Brazilian center back has been superb and only goalkeeper Marcin Bulka has played more minutes on Nice this season. Terem Moffi leads the team, with 11 goals, but he’s found the net just once in his last five games. Bettors can expect Sofiane Diop to be out for Wednesday’s match but Nice’s key players are available.

Mbappe Situation and UCL Failure on PSG’s Minds

Kylian Mbappe’s contract situation and another Champions League failure has somewhat overshadowed another Ligue 1 title winning season for PSG. They’ve been trying to win the Champions League ever since the Qatari-backed takeover in 2011 but PSG still have never won Europe’s top honor. They fell 2-0 to Borussia Dortmund, on aggregate, in the Semifinal and got unlucky by hitting the woodwork countless times.

Mbappe recently announced he’d be leaving the club through video. With another UCL failure and Mbappe likely heading to Real Madrid in the Summer, Luis Enrique and the board have a lot of work ahead of them.Still, before Mbappe leaves, they have two more Ligue 1 matches and a Coupe de France Final. PSG won the Trophee des Champions along with Ligue 1 this season and could add a third trophy vs Lyon in a little over 10 days’ time.

In his final match at the Parc des Princes as a PSG player, Mbappe scored in a 3-1 loss to Toulouse. Regardless, PSG celebrated their Ligue 1 title on Sunday. The PSG standings show it was just their second loss of the Ligue 1 campaign. At the moment, Lucas Hernandez is out with a long term injury and it’s not entirely clear if Enrique will name a strong side on Wednesday.

Nice vs PSG Match Analysis & Odds

Achraf Hakimi, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Goncalo Ramos, Ousmane Dembele, Marquinhos, Fabian Ruiz and Lucas Beraldo all started on the bench on Sunday for PSG. Perhaps Enrique will give them some run on Wednesday but it clearly signals that PSG’s focus is more on the Coupe de France next weekend. The Nice vs PSG odds also back that up, as PSG are +155 favorites and Nice come in at +160.

Usually, PSG would be heavily favored for a match vs Nice but Les Aiglons have all of the motivation to win here. A draw (+260) would keep their Champions League hopes alive but Farioli and Nice will only be satisfied with a win. PSG pk currently sits at -110, while bettors can find Nice pk at -105.

Nice were the only Ligue 1 team to defeat PSG before the Parisians clinched the title this season. It certainly won’t be a walk in the park for the visitors and Nice will try to contain them defensively. Under three goals show -110 odds in what should be a close one.
