Yankees vs Mets Series Preview: NYY On The Road
Yankees King of the Apple, Met's Have Other Plans

In 2022, New York Yankees bettors have enjoyed over 1600 units of profit to back their 66-31 record. If you backed the New York Mets all season, odds are you’ve done almost as well with the Metropolitans returning just under 1460 units.
The Yanks are 29-19 on the road but $100 bettors only returned a small profit of $11, while the Mets (59-37) at home have been slightly better with a return of 228 units behind a 29-17 record. Since 2018, the Mets are just 12-10 against the Bombers but that was good enough for 700 units won for $100 bettors. Take a look at our informative Yankees vs Mets Series Preview, and find out which direction is best for you.

Yankees Trending Down against Teams with Winning Record
While writing this Yankees vs Mets series preview, the thought of a Subway World Series became more tangible. Anyone betting these two New York teams this season has been rolling in the cash, which means they both will be primed to make a big run at October’s biggest prize. That’s a few months down the road, let’s focus on tonight and whether the Bombers or the Metropolitans odds offer us the best chance at a winner.
Mets right-hander Taijuan Walker (7-2, 2.55 ERA) is slated to take the mound against Yankees left-hander baseball player Jordan Montgomery (3-2, 3.24 ERA). New York has done what they’ve had to do in the month of July, which is keep their head above water with a 12.5-game lead in the MLB American League East.
I’m not sure 10-10 is what they hoped for but still good enough to fend off any team with the hope they might catch up. That makes them a tricky bet against the better teams because you have one side fighting for their postseason lives, with the other surely in. We are aware they still want home field but that’s something you start to focus on in September. New York has dropped 5 of their last 7 against MLB teams .500 or better.
Remember to Forget what You Saw
The New York Mets odds tonight are inviting because it’s not too often you’ll get the Mets at -110 at Citi Field and they are a terrific team against an opponent who has allowed less than two runs in their previous game, winning 27 of their last 32.
The latest example was when the San Diego Padres held the Mets to one run, in a 2-1 win. Buck Showalter’s team came right back and put up an 8-spot in game three of a series. The 6th ranked offense in baseball never lets you get too comfortable with your recent accomplishments on the mound.
Small Price at Home Tough to Pass Up in Game One
To conclude our Yankees vs Mets Series Preview, New York Yankees betting has been automatic for some but this has been a situation where the Mets have been very good for a long time. A spot that includes the previous trend, but they also have been terrific when playing the game one of a series, winning 22 of their last 28 games.
Walker is 1-3 with a 4.06 ERA in six career starts against the Yankees. Montgomery is 0-2 with a 7.11 ERA in three starts against the Mets. Experience says, take the Mets until you get a winner, which I suspect will be in game one.
