After sweeping the American League Central Division-leading Cleveland Guardians, the Arizona Diamondbacks look to keep on rolling as the NL-leading Philadelphia Phillies come to town. Aces to Clash in Saturday Night Special

It is pretty hard to top the starting pitching matchup on Saturday when Aaron Nola squares off against Zac Gallen.

Nola recently won his 100th career game, all with the Phillies. He has finished in the top 10 in the National League Cy Young three times since making his MLB debut in 2013.

In last year’s playoff series against the Diamondbacks, he was 1-1 with a 3.48 ERA and 11 strikeouts in 10.1 innings. Keep that in mind when looking at the Phillies vs D’backs series betting odds.

Gallen, who is 47-33 in six MLB seasons with the Diamondbacks, also finished in the top 10 in the Cy Young voting on three occasions. He lost both of his starts against the Phillies in the 2023 playoffs.

Seven of Philadelphia’s last nine baseball games went over the total.

Home Run Props Worth Considering

This is the time of the year when the contenders look to distance themselves from the pretenders.

Since the MLB All-Star break, Arizona has been making the biggest move with a 14-4 record while the Phillies are coming off a series win between National League division leaders. That could factor into the Phillies vs D’backs series betting odds.

Leading the way are Philadelphia’s Kyle Schwarber and Arizona’s Ketel Marte. Marte is tied for the National League lead with 10 home runs since play resumed. He has a .328 batting average and .791 slugging percentage.

He is on the verge of his second career 30-homer season. He is two RBIs shy of last season’s total in 40 fewer games.

Schwarber hit three home runs and had seven RBIs as the Phillies won the series finale against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

He has eight home runs and 12 extra-base hits in his last 11 games. Schwarber homered five times in the seven-game MLB playoff series against Arizona last season. He could be a solid option in the home run props in this series.

Nine of Arizona’s last 11 games landed over the total.
