Game One
Logan Webb (SF) 8-8, 3.49 vs Patrick Corbin (WSH) 2-11, 5.88
Logan Webb is on the MLB lineup today for the Giants. They are trying to stay within shouting distance of the last wild card spot. Webb is coming off an impressive effort against the Oakland Athletics, allowing just five hits, 0 earned runs, 1 walk, and six strikeouts in a complete game, 1-0 victory.

That was a much-needed performance because, before that start, Webb had allowed 17 earned runs in his last 23 innings (6.65 era). Over his previous five starts combined, the 27-year-old is 2-2 with a 4.78 ERA while allowing 37 hits in 32 innings.
Patrick Corbin is coming off his worst start of the season after allowing 10 earned runs in just three innings of work against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The upstate New York native allowed 13 hits and a homer in the Nationals’ 17-0 defeat.
Corbin’s current form isn’t pretty with 21 earned runs allowed in his last 26 innings (7.27 era, 34 hits allowed). Neither team has filled their MLB line-up today but from a starting pitching standpoint, the Giants have the clear advantage to start the series, we’re not interested in the side because of the number.
But we are jumping on the over for our MLB predictions today.

Game Two
Hayden Birdsong (SF) 3-0, 2.97 vs MacKenzie Gore (Wash) 6-9, 4.54
With Alex Cobb out of the picture, the Giants will lean on the 22-year-old Hayden Birdsong to help carry a veteran pitching staff. He will be making his seventh start of the season after starting the year in the minors including 11 starts at AA Richmond and two more at AAA Sacramento. (5-2, 2.51 era combined).
The former Northern Illinois start has been a welcomed addition after putting together a five-game record of 3-0 after allowing seven earned runs in 25.2 innings (2.45 era, allowing 16 hits while striking out 33).
Birdsong was sensational in his last start against the Colorado Rockies after throwing five shutout innings in a 5-0 win. The Rockies managed just three hits and three walks while striking out eight times.
MacKenzie Gore has been searching for a quality start over his last five with an 0-2 record after allowing 21 earned runs, 28 hits, 15 walks, and 15 walks in 20.1 innings, leading to a 9.30 ERA. This season Gore has had to battle baserunners consistently, allowing 123 hits on 111 innings. Our MLB betting prediction for today’s game is over the total.
Game Three
Blake Snell (SF) 1-3, 4.29 vs Jake Irvin (Wash) 8-9, 3.56
Our last Giants vs Nationals pick features 2-team Cy Young award winner Blake Snell who is well rested after missing five weeks with an adductor and groin injury.
Since returning the 2-time ERA champion has been unhittable after throwing a no-hitter in his last start against the Cincinnati Reds (9IP, 0H, 0ER, 3BB, 11K) in a 3-0 victory. Over his last five starts, Snell has allowed just two earned runs, eight hits, 10 walks, and 41 strikeouts in 35 innings (0.51 era).
You could make the case that Irvin has been better than his record would indicate, but that’s what you get when the Nationals support their righty with just 3.64 runs per game.
In 23 starts, Irvin has received three runs or less 15 times. Over his last five starts, Irvin has allowed 20 earned runs and 33 hits in his previous 28 innings (6.43 era). We’re back to the well in game three with another recommendation of over the total. That is our Giants vs Nationals pick.
We wish you all the best with your picks and parlays to begin this critical series for the Giants.
