MLB Thursday Recap: Favorites Sweep the Day
Favored Teams Go Perfect 7-0

The MLB Thursday Recap shows a day you wanted to be laying the odds. All seven favorites on the schedule won their games. Favorites were 5-2 on the run line. Six of the seven favorites were playing at home. The Padres were the lone road favorite on the betting card.
Totals went 3-4 on the day, with two of the games decided by a half-run.
Blue Jays Score Early in Win
The Toronto Blue Jays scored three first-inning runs off Freddy Peralta on Thursday. That was all they needed to defeat Milwaukee 3-1. The Brewers were held scoreless for the first eight innings before plating a run in the ninth.
Bo Bichette and Matt Chapman homered in the first inning. Kevin Gausman pitched 6 2/3 scoreless innings and fanned 11 in earning the win. Gausman is among the MLB stat leaders in strikeouts with 100. He trails only Atlanta’s Spencer Strider, who has 108.
Tatis Has Big Day in Padre Win
Fernando Tatis had three hits and drove in four runs, as San Diego thumped Miami 10-1. Joe Musgrove was the beneficiary of the offensive outburst.
He pitched six innings and allowed an unearned run in getting the victory on the mound. The Padres sent the game over the total with a seven-run sixth inning.
Diamondbacks Win in Bottom of Ninth
The MLB Thursday Recap shows the best game of the day took place in Arizona. Trailing 4-3 entering the bottom of the ninth, the Diamondbacks had two on and two out for rookie Corbin Carroll. Carroll stroked a two-run single to centerfield, giving Arizona the come-from-behind victory.
The Diamondbacks aren’t about to get the most wins in MLB season, but it was the fifth straight victory for Arizona. The team moved into a first-place tie with the Dodgers in the NL West.
Red Sox Roll Late to Avoid Sweep
The Boston Red Sox scored six runs in the bottom of the eighth to defeat Cincinnati 8-2 and avoid the sweep. With the score tied at 2, Boston scored the eventual winning run on Rafael Dever’s RBI double.
Enrique Hernandez followed with a two-run single to make it 6-2. A two-run homer by Connor Wong made it 8-2 and sent the game over the total.
Twins Rally to Defeat Guardians
The MLB Thursday Recap shows Cleveland and Minnesota saved the fireworks for the late innings. The Twins rallied for a 7-6 victory. With Minnesota leading 3-0 entering the sixth inning, Cleveland erupted for five runs in the top of the sixth.
Mike Zunino’s two-run single gave the Guardians a 6-3 lead with a two-run single. Royce Lewis tied the game in the bottom of the eighth inning. The Twins won it in the bottom of the ninth on Will Castro’s sacrifice fly.
