MLB Thursday Recap: Orioles Knock Off Yankees Again

Overs Post 6-4 Record on Day

The MLB Thursday recap shows it was a decent day to bet the overs. Totals went 6-4 on the day and are now 364-358-30 on the season. Only one team scored 10 runs, but there six- and seven-run outbursts to get the games over. Home teams were just 5-5 on the day and are now 401-351 on the season.

Favorites were 6-3 on the day, with the Phillies and Atlanta closing at -110 both directions. Favorites are now 438-323 on the season, but are showing a flat-bet loss due to an average price of -158. Underdogs are also showing a flat-bet loss, although it’s smaller than that of favorites.

Starters Dominate in Cincinnati

The St. Louis Cardinals edged Cincinnati 2-1 in a solid pitcher’s duel. Luke Weaver pitched 6 1/3 scoreless innings for the Reds. But Miles Mikolas pitched seven shutout innings for the Cardinals. St. Louis scored twice in the eighth and the Reds could manage just one run in the ninth. The total closed at 9.5.

Tampa Bay Rebounds Against Toronto

After losing 20-1 to Toronto on Tuesday, the Tampa Bay Rays rebounded to win the final two games of the series. Tampa showed it has the best MLB record with a 7-3 on Wednesday and a 6-3 win on Thursday. The Rays were 7-for-7 on stolen bases Thursday and Zach Efflin allowed one run in seven innings to help Tampa win the series.

Late Fireworks in Colorado

The ML Thursday recap shows a tough loss for under bettors in Colorado, where the Rockies and Marlins were tied at 2 after seven innings. Colorado scored four runs in the eighth, including the last three with two outs. Miami answered with a pair of two-run homers in the top of the ninth to send the game over the total of 11. The Rockies won it in the bottom of the ninth on a Ezequiel Tovar base hit.

Padres Rally in Ninth Inning

A two-out, three-run home run in the top of the ninth by Rougned Odor sent the Padres to an 8-6 win over Washington. It was Odor’s third home run of the season. The Nationals trailed 5-1 after six innings, but scored five runs in the seventh to take the lead.

Orioles Win Series Against Yankees

The MLB Thursday recap shows the Baltimore Orioles managed to take two of three games from the Yankees, including Thursday’s 3-1 win. Kyle Gibson pitched seven scoreless innings for Baltimore, who have the second-best record in baseball. The Orioles don’t have the most impressive MLB stats, sitting No. 14 in team batting and No. 12 in pitching, but are finding ways to win.

Mariners Complete Sweep of Oakland

The MLB Thursday recap shows another tough loss for the Oakland A’s, who have dropped eight straight. The A’s didn’t roll over for Seattle, but dropped two 3-2 decisions in the series. The Athletics have the worst record in MLB and it’s not really close. Oakland is now 10-42. The closest team to them is Kansas City, which is 15-36. Every other MLB has picked up at least 20 wins on the season. The A’s rank last in both team hitting and team pitching.
