The Yankees Are In Line For Another Series Win

The White Sox vs Yankees Odds Heavily Favor New York

The New York Yankees became the second team in the MLB to reach 30 wins. They also became the first American League team to add 30 wins on the season.

Over the last ten games, New York has gone 8-2 and is on a four-game winning streak. It’ll put that win streak on the line against one of the worst teams in the American League, the Chicago White Sox.

Chicago only has 14 wins on the season. However, after winning six of their last ten games, they’re low-key hot right now. The White Sox are quietly coming into this three-game series against the Yankees with a two-game winning streak.

Do the White Sox have what it takes to compete with the best team in the American League?

Oddsmakers don’t believe so. For example, in the first game of the series, the Yankees are -248 on the moneyline, -1.5 (-122) on the run line, and the total is at 8, with the Over juiced to -116.

Let’s talk about these White Sox vs Yankees odds for the entire three-game series of this AL showdown. .

The White Sox Added Corey Julks

The White Sox traded with the Astros and landed DH Corey Julks for minor-league pitcher Luis Rodriguez.

After the deal, Julks was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte but is on the 40-man roster after Rafael Ortega was designated for assignment.

Giancarlo Stanton Looks Great!

Over the last few seasons, Giancarlo Stanton has been sidelined for prolonged periods due to lower body injuries. However, in the offseason, Stanton fixed his lower body issues and hasn’t missed a beat in the regular season this year.

Although Stanton is hitting just .236, he’s got nine home runs and is hitting above a .300 average with runners in scoring position. This is the version of Stanton the Yankees had been looking for since signing him years ago.

Stanton has ultimately helped the Yankees move up in the World Series odds to start the season.

White Sox vs Yankees Odds For Game 1:

RL: Yankees -1.5 (-122) ML: Yankees -248, O/U 8 -116/-104

Game 1

Friday, 7:05 pm ET
Mike Clevinger vs. Nestor Cortes

The White Sox will give the ball to right-hander Mike Clevinger for Game 1 of this series. Clevinger has only faced 34 batters this season. However, those 34 batters have hit a .233 ISO and wOBA of .422 with only 14.7% of strikeouts.

He’s also allowed 32% of line drives and fly balls while inducing only 36% of ground balls. While it’s a small sample size, Clevinger has been far from good.

Against righties, the projected lineup for the Yankees has slugged a .152 ISO and wOBa of .329 with only 18.5% of strikeouts. While they’re certainly not elite, Anthony Volpe, Juan Soto, Aaron Judge, Alex Verdugo, and Anthony Rizzo have all hit a high ISO and wOBA against righties this season. Soto has lots of potential when looking at the MLB MVP odds this season.

Meanwhile, the Yankees will give lefty Nestor Cortes the start in the series’ first game. Cortes has struck out 23.3% of batters and has kept walks down to 5%. He’s also held teams to a .151 ISO and wOBA of .286 despite allowing more fly balls than ground balls.

The White Sox will face two lefties in this series. The projected lineup has only hit a .091 ISO and wOBA of .233 with 29.2% of strikeouts and just 2.3% of walks against lefties this season. You can forget about this White Sox offense against lefties.

Cortes has nothing to worry about. Bettors don’t have to worry about the Yankees game today, either. Back the Yankees at -1.5 (-122) in the first game of this series.

Game 2

Saturday, 1:05 pm ET
Brad Keller vs Luis Gil

The White Sox have their best chance at winning in Game 2 of this series. They’ll throw Brad Keller, a right-handed pitcher, who has already held teams to a .140 ISO and wOBA of .274 against his first 55 batters faced. Keller is known for high ground balls, but rarely adds a high amount of strikeouts. This season, he’s only struck out 16.4% of batters. Yet, he’s still limited line drives to 17.1% and fly balls to 22%.

Keller will duel against Luis Gil of the Yankees. Gil is another right-handed pitcher who has walked 14.9% of batters. But if you took away the walks, Gil looks elite. He’s held teams to a .103 ISO and wOBA of .244 and will ultimately face a White Sox lineup that rarely walks against righties.

Ultimately, the Under will be one of our free MLB picks.

Game 3

Sunday, 1:35 pm ET
Chris Flexen vs Carlos Rodon

In the finale, the White Sox will pencil in Chris Flexen. While Flexen has kept walks down, he’s allowed a .308 ISO and wOBA of .369 to his first 56 lefties faced this year. Flexen has been better against righties this season but has allowed more fly ball contact than ground ball contact against lefties.

Flexen will face Carlos Rodon of the Yankees. He’s a lefty who has allowed a .200 ISO and wOBA of .325 to his first 210 batters this season. However, his stats have improved since earlier in the season.

Only Tommy Pham, Andrew Vaughn, and Paul DeJong can be trusted against lefties in the White Sox lineup. The rest of the batters have hit an ISO of .059 or worse against lefties in the projected lineup.

Back New York in Game 3, when the White Sox vs Yankees odds are released on Sunday.
