The Yankees Will Stay Slumping This Weekend
Red Sox vs Yankees Betting: Boston's More Consistent On Both Sides

The New York Yankees will take on the Boston Red Sox in the Bronx for a three-game series.
The Yankees are 2-8 in their last ten baseball games and have had the worst record in baseball since mid-June. However, despite the poor run in the previous three weeks, the Yankees are still 54-35 and heavily involved in the playoff race.
On the other hand, the Red Sox were never supposed to be this good. Boston is 47-39 heading into the weekend after many oddsmakers projected the Red Sox would be one of the worst teams in the MLB.

While Boston hasn’t invested in its team as much as some would’ve hoped, they’ve constructed a good roster filled with young talent that has improved over time.
We’ll see if that young talent is enough to defeat the Yankees in a three-game series over the weekend.
The Yankees are currently -136 on the moneyline in Game 1 of the series, and the total is at 8. Meanwhile, the total is juiced to -115 at this time.

Jarren Duran’s Surge
Jarren Duran became the first Red Sox hitter in franchise history with at least 40 extra-base hits and 20 stolen bases before the All-Star Break.
The young Boston outfielder has been on a tear this season, batting in the leadoff spot for the club. However, MLB Network analysts and former Red Sox great Kevin Millar has given himself credit for believing in Duran’s potential.
Duran has hit an OPS of nearly .850 this season for Boston, which is one of the main reasons the Red Sox continue to see a higher probability in the MLB Playoffs odds.
The Yankees Were Just Swept
It’s been a bad three weeks for the Yankees, who were swept by the Cincinnati Reds at home this week.
It wasn’t just any series sweep.
This was the first time a National League team swept a road series of at least three games or more against the Yankees since interleague play started in 1997.
This was just the sixth time the Yankees had been swept in an interleague series of at least three games.

- Tanner Houck vs Nestor Cortes
In the series’ first game, Tanner Houck will take the hill. He’s a right-handed thrower, holding a 2.67 ERA on the season.
This season, Houck has been good overall, especially over the last 30 days. He’s held teams to a .150 ISO and has allowed a respectable wOBA of .312 over the previous month. He’s also induced 54.4% of ground balls in that same time frame. Additionally, Houck has struck out 23.4% of batters and has only walked 3.1%.
Over the last month, the Yankees’ projected lineup has hit a .187 ISO and wOBA of .343 but has five batters with an ISO of below .138 over the last 30 days. Aaron Judge is carrying this offense. Austin Wells and Trent Grisham have also contributed at a high level against righties over the last month.
Meanwhile, the Yankees will counter with Nestor Cortes in the first game. Cortes has allowed a .177 ISO and wOBA of .320 over the last 30 days. He’s been slightly below average and hasn’t come close to pitching as well as Houck.
Plus, while the Red Sox usually have a lineup filled with left-handed batters, they’ll probably branch out and add righties to the lineup in this one. Tyler O’Neill, Rob Refsnyder, Jamie Westbrook, Connor Wong, and Ceddanne Rafaela have all done well against lefties over the last month.
Add the Red Sox to your MLB picks and parlays tonight.

- Josh Winckowski vs Gerrit Cole
Josh Winckowski will get the start on Saturday. He’s only thrown against 155 batters this season but has limited opponents to a .088 ISO and wOBA of .301. Winckowski has faced 44 batters over the last 30 days. In those 30 days, he has allowed just a .024 ISO and wOBA of .243, with more than 63% of ground balls earned over the last month.
Winckowski will duel Gerrit Cole, who finally improved in his third start of the MLB season. He’s still allowed an ISO of .306 and wOBA of .406 over the last month, but you can expect these stats to decrease and improve over the previous month.
The projected lineup for the Red Sox has hit a .176 ISO and wOBA of .337 with 20.6% of strikeouts and 7.5% of walks against righties over the last 30 days.

- Kutter Crawford vs Luis Gil
On the road, Kutter Crawford will pitch in the finale for the Red Sox. He’s got a 3.47 ERA on the season and has struck out 30% of batters over the last 30 days. Crawford has allowed a .274 ISO and wOBA of .307 over the previous month, but his high strikeouts and low walks have kept him pitching consistently well lately.
On the other hand, it’ll be Luis Gil for the Yankees. Gil’s ERA has shot up to 3.41 over the last 30 days as he’s had a brutal last 30 days. Gil has allowed a .228 ISO and wOBA of .371 to his previous 123 batters. He’s also struggled against both sides of the plate.
The Red Sox should be ahead of the Yankees on the MLB scoreboard in this potential rubber game of the three-game series.
