MLS Week 18 Odds Preview: Latest MLS Standings

MLS Newcomers atop the tables

After seeing three match days in eight days, MLS is finally back on a regular schedule with MLS Week 18. Week 17 saw some fantastic matchups and a few unexpected duds as well. From a boring Cascadia Derby to a team’s continued dominance over the Eastern Conference, MLS has it all!

Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming MLS Week 18.

Current MLS Standings

Near the top of the tables, there was little change except for an exciting development in the West. However, the middle of the tables saw some shake-ups that could lead to better things for those teams.

After only taking one point in two matches last week, the Seattle Sounders fell to second place behind St. Louis CITY SC. St. Louis has two games in hand and can extend their distance from the Sounders. Look out for LAFC, who have stayed in third but have FIVE games in hand.

After another fantastic showing in the East, FC Cincinnati proves its dominance and leads the Supporter’s Shield race. The Columbus Crew has started to turn things around as they keep moving higher and higher up the table as New England keeps falling.

Key MLS Week 18 Matches

This week in MLS has some incredibly one-sided matches. But that also means there are more chances for some potential upsets! There are three of these matches that every sports bettor should watch in MLS Week 18. Those matches are Montreal/Minnesota, Sporting KC/Austin, and Vancouver/Cincinnati.

CFMCF Montreal vs Minnesota UnitedMNU

Day/Time:

Minnesota United and Montreal are coming off a week filled with a draw and disappointing losses. Statistically, Minnesota has the stronger squad and could cause some damage to Montreal’s damaged backline. Montreal has looked better as of late, but their results have not shown that. Minnesota United at +245 should be the way to go.

SKCSporting KC vs Austin FCAUS

Day/Time:

Since beating the Sounders, Austin FC has been up and down in their results. They can grind out wins with Druissi, but something needs to click. Sporting KC continues to disappoint and doesn’t look to be able to turn their season around. In a battle of the bottom of the table, our bet is on Austin FC at +270 to grind out the win.

Vancouver Whitecaps vs FC Cincinnati

Day/Time:

The Vancouver Whitecaps have had their resurgence in the last few weeks with some great play and incredible grit. However, FC Cincinnati is on an entirely different level this season and has dominated nearly everyone in their path. Currently, Cincinnati is sitting at +230, so they are the team to bet on now!
