kick Things off on Saturday at Geodis Park in Nashville.

We’re just days away from the first game of the 2023 MLS season, and the hype is REAL. New York City FC and Nashville SC kick things off on Saturday at Geodis Park in Nashville. We’re about to kick things off with some MLS week one betting tips, the best matches to watch, and who has the best odds for each game.

Let’s get to it.

MLS Week 1 Betting Odds

Listed below will be all the matches of the weekend with their MLS week one betting odds heading into the first match week. Be sure to follow the entire MLS schedule, and keep up with the MLS standings right here.

Saturday 2/25

Sunday 2/26

Surprisingly, there is only one game for MLS week one betting: The Seattle Sounders against the Colorado Rapids.

Best Bets for MLS Week 1 Betting

The first week has sports bettors foaming at the mouth at all the possibilities heading into the season. However, three key matches can provide the best option for a good payout. Here are those three games and why they are perfect for MLS week one betting.

Nashville SC (+105) vs. NYCFC (+245) 2/26 at 1:30 pm PST

When the sides last met on this ground, a raucous affair transpired, which saw two red cards handed out and four goals in a 3-1 win for the home side. Mukhtar scored twice in that game. He will be itching to start his season with more net-busting activity.

This fixture is set to feature one of the best MLS players in 2023 in the shape of Hany Mukhtar, who notably scored twice when the sides met here back in 2021. As two of the 2022 playoff teams, this game could set the benchmark for any franchise looking for success this year.

The over/under for goals for this match sits at 2.5, with the under at -110 and the dead at -120. You should avoid going with the over/under, as there will be little to no payout. The best bet would be betting on the draw at +250. Both teams are vital in the attack but a little suspect in the back.

DC United (+135) vs. Toronto FC (+180) 2/25 at 4:30 pm PST

DC United was nothing short of tragic in 2022. This was encapsulated by the Philadelphia Union hitting seven past them at Audi Field. Hernan Losada and Chad Ashton had brief tenures as head coaches, but Wayne Rooney is entrusted with taking the club forward.

Toronto FC, by all accounts, wasn’t much better last season. Contrastingly, the board stuck by their man at the helm, Bob Bradley. The former USMNT manager can work with the Italian influx as Lorenzo Insigne, Federico Bernardeschi, and Raoul Petretta all now call BMO Field home.

This early season matchup between the two stragglers of 2022 will be a perfect acid test to see how they’ve improved in the offseason. The over/under for this match is three goals. So either it will be a goal fest or an absolute dud. The under for three goals scored is -135, and the over sits at +105. So if you had to choose between the two for straight odds, it would be best to go with Toronto at +185.

LAFC (+140) vs. LA Galaxy (+170) 2/25 at 6:30 pm PST

In arguably the worst MLS rivalry name ever created, El Traffico is one of, if not the biggest, MLS week one betting matches. The eighteenth meeting should be no different from the others because it will be a highly entertaining and goal-laden fixture. This will be the first time the match will be contested at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.

These two Los Angeles rivals met in the Western Conference semifinals of the MLS Cup playoffs season in a frantic match ending 3-2 to LAFC. The rest is history, as Steve Cherundolo’s team went on to win the entire season, much to the displeasure of LA Galaxy supporters.

As two of the stronger teams in MLS, only a few additions have been needed. Aaron Long did, however, join LAFC from NYRB. So there should be nothing to get in the way of another high-octane game for the bragging rights to LA. Unfortunately, the all-time series is still tipped in Galaxy’s favor with 7-5 wins (five draws, too), yet LAFC could move closer to correcting that with success here.
