Bellator 283 – Lima vs Jackson Odds: Grapplers Rule

If you love grapplers, you may just love Bellator 283. Jason Jackson will utilize his superior wrestling skills to defeat Douglas Lima so say the Lima vs Jackson odds. But he’s not the only grappler who is getting plenty of love on the online sportsbook. Fighters like Sidney Outlaw and Usman Nurmagomedov are in feature fights and all the way to the curtain-jerker, grapplers are set to showcase their stuff.

Jackson Neutralizes Lima With Wrestling

Though nicknamed “The Ass-Kicking Machine”, Jackson is anything but. The Jamaican may have won five straight fights against UFC-caliber competition but he did in the most boring way possible. Jackson is well-rounded but will use his size and wrestling to neutralize his opponents. He’s the favorite on the Bellator 283 odds because he can do just that to Lima.

Lima, the three-time Bellator Welterweight Champion, has lost three straight fights and appears to be a shot fighter. He’s been weak against wrestlers as exposed by how Yaroslav Amosov wrecked him for five rounds. Now, Jackson is not the same grappler as Amosov. But he is also bigger and potentially stronger than Lima. He’s also held his own against Neiman Gracie and Ed Ruth, two grappling prodigies.

Betting on Bellator fights can be a treacherous affair, especially with chalk like Jackson. But Lima has not won a fight since 2019. Jackson should fight smart and whittle him down with his wrestling even if it will make for another snoozer of the main event.

Strikers Versus Grapplers Line Rest of Main Card

Other than the Lima vs Jackson odds, you can find the rest of the Bellator 283 main card with similar matchups. Sidney Outlaw will look to out grapple Tofiq Musayev or he could be headed for a nap. Outlaw was supposed to fight Patricky “Pitbull” for the 155 lb. title but that fell through. Musayev is another dangerous striker though he has flaws on the ground, but the odds have him as the favorite.

Prior to this bout, Usman Nurmagomedov will look to keep his unbeaten record intact when he fights Chris Gonzalez. Nurmagomedov is once again a sizable favorite as he should be able to wrestle down Gonzalez en route to a one-sided decision or a finish.

Mukhamed Berkhamov is another Russian grappler who will fight before Nurmagomedov. He takes on veteran Lorenz Larkin, who will undoubtedly look to keep the fight standing. Berkhamov is slightly favored over Larkin though he could be in hot water if he has a difficult time out grappling Larkin, who can hit hard.

Lastly, a heavyweight tilt with Davion Franklin and Marcelo Golm opens the main card. Franklin is a significant favorite as he has the wrestling chops to beat Golm, who has mostly lost to wrestlers.

Grapplers Showcased For The Rest of Bellator 283

Prior to the main card, the Bellator 283: Lima vs Jackson odds favor a lot of grapplers on the prelims. Vanessa Porto is the most notable name here as she fights Veta Arteaga as the favorite. Porto is quite old as one of the sport’s pioneers but she has an edge over Arteaga in the grappling department.

Romero Cotton and Dalton Rosta is a bout between unbeaten prospects and while the odds favor the latter, Cotton has the prolific wrestling skills to pull off an upset. Gadzhi Rabadanov is another grappler of note. He’s a Dagestani and as stereotypes go, he is a powerful wrestler and the favorite in his fight, however, Bobby King has been hot as an underdog. He has won three of his last four fights all as a dog.

Last but not least, Roman Faraldo is the biggest favorite on the card. He is not a grappler and actually fights opposite to that as he likes to throw explosive attacks like flying knees. He takes on Luis Iniguez who is an all-around fighter but not quite as creative as Faraldo.
