2024 NASCAR All-Star Open Odds: Favorites, sleepers to join All-Star Race

Only three spots in the All-Star Race are up for grabs. Who will clinch one with a win?

For the second consecutive year, NASCAR’s All-Star weekend brings a week of excitement to North Wilkesboro Speedway. The annual exhibition will feature the best of the field from the last year and a half.

Three spots are still available for the field, though: the top two drivers from the All-Star Open and the Fan Vote winner. Here’s how the 2024 NASCAR All-Star Open Odds look ahead of Sunday’s race.

2024 NASCAR All-Star Open Odds: Favorites

  • Ty Gibbs (+225)

Gibbs enters the weekend fresh off his best result of the season with second in Darlington. The second-year driver has been one of the better drivers in the field in 2024.

His consistent NASCAR results put him seventh in the championship and the second-best winless driver behind only Martin Truex Jr.

In last year’s NASCAR All-Star Open, Gibbs managed second place. On the back of a much better season, he’s a strong contender to win this time around.

  • Bubba Wallace (+450)

Wallace’s last win came in the Kansas fall race in 2022, so it’s down to the All-Star Open for him to make the All-Star race this weekend. He’s fresh off his fifth top-10 finish this season, seventh in Darlington.

His odds are this good thanks to his results in the All-Star Race last season when he finished second to Kyle Larson. Wallace is rightly a favorite and has a great chance of being one of the top finishers in the All-Star Open.

  • Noah Gragson (+700)

Gragson’s in his best run of form this season with third in Talladega, sixth in Dover, and ninth in Kansas before finishing 14th in Darlington.

This isn’t his first All-Star race weekend, either, with seventh place in the All-Star Open last season.

He won the fan vote and made it to the All-Star Race, where he finished 23rd. His odds are a bit surprising as he hasn’t shown the pace of others in the favorites group.

  • Alex Bowman (+750)

Bowman missed last year’s All-Star weekend in North Wilkesboro but gets his chance to compete this time around. He is quietly one of the best Cup Series drivers in recent races.

No other driver in the field can match his four-race stretch of top-eight finishes.

Bowman’s only behind Gibbs in the NASCAR standings among the drivers in this field. He has a great chance of earning a spot in the All-Star Race this weekend.

  • Josh Berry (+750)

Berry’s rookie season in the Cup Series has been a mixed bag. Last week marked his best result of the season with third in Darlington.

Last year, Berry won the All-Star Open before finishing 15th in the All-Star Race. Like last year, the NASCAR schedule this weekend includes the Pit Crew Challenge to decide pole for the Open.

Berry finished second in that, behind only Gibbs. That prior success is on his side, but his current form casts doubt on a win this weekend.

  • Chase Briscoe (+800)

Like Berry, Briscoe notched his best result of the season last week in Darlington. Fifth place last time out marked his fifth top-10 result of the season to give him a little momentum.

Briscoe’s win in Phoenix in 2022 automatically qualified him for last year’s All-Star Race. He raced well in North Wilkesboro last year with fourth place overall. That’s a good enough track record to give him a good chance this weekend.

Sleepers

  • Ryan Preece (+1000)

Preece barely missed the cut for the All-Star Race last year by finishing fourth in the All-Star Open. He’s had mixed results in 2024, with one top-10 result in the first 13 events.

A win for Preece in the All-Star Open would be a surprise based on recent form alone, but his strong results last year give confidence in his sleeper status.

  • Erik Jones (+1200)

Jones missed two of the last three NASCAR races due to injuries sustained in a crash at Talladega. His return saw him finish 19th in Darlington, which is in line with his typical results in 2024.

If he’s back up to speed, he makes for another solid sleeper option this weekend. He made the All-Star Race in 2023 thanks to his Darlington win in 2022 and managed eighth place on the day. He could be in the fight for a win in the Open this time around.

  • Carson Hocevar (+3500)

The latest NASCAR news shows Hocevar as one of the top five drivers in the fan vote portion of the weekend. Hocevar’s rookie season has been okay so far, with just one top-10 finish (10th in Texas).

This marks his first All-Star Open so it’s hard to judge how he’ll fare. At least he’ll have a strong chance to make the All-Star Race, thanks to his fan vote totals.

2024 NASCAR All-Star Open Odds: Picks for Sunday

These NASCAR odds are pretty close as multiple drivers have a great chance to make it to Sunday’s All-Star Race. Of the favorites, we like Wallace (+450) to punch his ticket to the All-Star Race with a win.

Of the sleepers, we like Jones (+1200) to get the win with a better payout.
