Austin Hill the heavy favorite in 2024 RAPTOR King of Tough 250 Odds

Hill Won Third Consecutive Season Opener, Could Make it Two Consecutive in Atlanta

The 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series began with a familiar sight: Austin Hill winning the opener in Daytona. Hill won ahead of Sheldon Creed and Parker Retzlaff for his third consecutive season-opening victory.

Uncover Exclusive Picks & Predictions From Our Experts.

He starts the season at the top of the NASCAR championship standings ahead of Creed and Riley Herbst. Now, the grid’s heading to another fast superspeedway in Atlanta, and oddsmakers like Hill to win again in the 2024 RAPTOR King of Tough 250 Odds.

Favorites for the win Saturday

  • Austin Hill (+325)

Hill’s third full season in the Xfinity Series started with a win in Daytona once again. This week features another track he’s enjoyed in recent years. He won and led the most laps last year in this event at Atlanta.

In 2022, he finished second in this race before winning the second race in Atlanta. Hill’s never won consecutive races in the Xfinity Series but this is likely his best shot to do it on the NASCAR Xfinity schedule.

  • John Hunter Nemechek (+800)

Nemechek’s back for another Xfinity race after finishing seventh in Daytona. He has a solid track record there as well with a win in the second race last season and eighth place at this event. He finished fourth there in his Xfinity debut in 2018. Nemechek’s strong on speedways like Atlanta. His best Cup Series results have come in Daytona and Talladega.

  • Justin Allgaier (+800)

Allgaier kicked off 2024 with eighth place in Daytona and his NASCAR betting odds make him one of the favorites. He won this event in 2021 and has two more top-10 finishes in the five races since then. He’s raced very well at speedways recently, including top-three finishes in both Daytona races last year. He’ll likely be fighting for a win again this weekend.

Longer odds worth picking

  • Sheldon Creed (+1200)

Creed notched his third consecutive second-place finish in the Xfinity Series last week in Daytona. He’s yet to win in the Xfinity Series but his NASCAR odds could offer a good opportunity. He’s raced well at superspeedways with second place at Talladega and Daytona last year. That first win could be coming this weekend and it’d offer a better payout than the favorites.

  • Chandler Smith (+1400)

The second-year Xfinity driver raced to fifth in Daytona after starting 19th on the grid last week. His two career Xfinity Series races haven’t been outstanding (28th and 20th last year) but he qualified on pole for the second race last season. He’s already improved on his start from 2023 and that could translate to a better result in Atlanta.

  • Riley Herbst (+1500)

Like Hill, Herbst started his 2024 season the same way as he did in 2023 with a sixth-place finish in Daytona. In 2023, that started a string of six consecutive top-10 finishes. That run included fifth place in Atlanta. He qualified sixth in the second race in Atlanta and led three laps before crashing out 88 laps into this NASCAR race. Like Smith, he could use a strong start in Daytona to build momentum in another superspeedway race.

2024 RAPTOR King of Tough 250 Odds: Picks for the Xfinity race

The Xfinity Series schedule features back-to-back superspeedway races for the first time since 2019. Atlanta’s one of the faster tracks on the calendar and a unique challenge for the drivers thanks to its narrower characteristics than that of Daytona.

Among the favorites, Hill is the obvious choice. He’s already proven his mettle at superspeedways in 2024 and could make it two in a row to start the year. Nemechek and Allgaier are good choices but Hill’s track record puts him above the rest.

Of the longer shots for victory, go with Smith. The second-year driver could take this weekend to make an early statement for the Xfinity Series championship in 2024.
