NASCAR Xfinity Series: Pit Boss 250 Odds
Cup Series Drivers Lead the Way for First Xfinity Road Course Race of Season

Pit Boss 250 Preview: Xfinity Series championship leader Austin Hill made it three wins in five races last week in Atlanta. He took his third win after leading 103 of the 163 total laps of the RAPTOR King of Tough 250. Daniel Hemric and Ryan Truex rounded out the top three.
This win puts Hill 46 points ahead of second-place John Hunter Nemechek in the Xfinity Series standings. That’s the same points gap from Nemechek in second down to Sam Mayer in sixth. Hill is taking control of the season early.
But this week provides a different challenge for the Xfinity grid. After five weeks of speedways and ovals, the series heads to Austin, Texas for the Pit Boss 250 at the Circuit of the Americas road course. The grid will also look different, with many Cup Series drivers opting to compete in the Xfinity race this week.
Cup Series Drivers, Hill Leads Odds
Continuing Our Pit Boss 250 Preview: Though he’s put together a quick trio of wins, Hill is not the favorite for the win this week in Austin. Cup Series driver AJ Allmendinger (+200) leads the way. He’s one of the top-five drivers in NASCAR odds for the Cup Series race so it’s little surprise he’s heavily favored here.
In the two Xfinity Series races he’s run at Circuit of the Americas, Allmendinger’s won one (2022) and finished second (2021). He’s a favorite for the win thanks to his success there and his experience on road courses with the Champ Car and IndyCar series.
William Byron, a two-time Cup Series winner in 2023, sits second at +300. His two wins have made up for poor performances elsewhere; he’s averaging a 30th-place finish in races he hasn’t won in 2023. He won his lone Xfinity Series season in 2017 without any road course wins. In his Cup Series career, Byron’s done much better on speedways and short tracks than road courses.
Defending Xfinity Series champion and Cup Series racer Ty Gibbs (+500) is next in odds. His title-winning season included seven wins, one of which came on a road course (Road America). He took pole for last year’s Xfinity race by half a second. A flat tire early on put him towards the back early on and he managed to finish 15th.
Cole Custer (+800) sits ninth in the Xfinity Series standings after a trio of 12th-place results. He podiumed last time out in Austin with a third-place finish.
Hill (+900) rounds out the top five favorites for a win on Saturday. The championship leader is on a good run so far but it may be hard to grab yet another Xfinity Series win given the number of Cup Series racers joining the grid this weekend.
Longer Odds to Consider
John Hunter Nemechek is behind the top five at +1400. He’s finished no lower than eighth in every race this season. He’s driven well in Austin in other series including a second-place finish last year in the Craftsman Truck Series. He’s been consistent and could break through for his second win of the season.
Rookie Chandler Smith hasn’t won a race yet but he’s notched three top-five finishes in five NASCAR races. Last week was his worst result of the season at 28th. He’ll be looking to rebound quickly this week. He’s driven well at road courses before. Last year he earned a top-five finish in Austin and Sonoma. At +2800, he could get a big payout for his first career Xfinity Series win.
At +5000, Riley Herbst is a long shot for victory. But like Nemechek, he’s been a consistent operator this season. He’s finished eighth or higher in every race in 2023, including the fifth last week in Atlanta. He’s had mixed results on road courses — 26th in Austin and seventh at Road Atlanta last year — but has shown the pace to inspire some confidence this weekend.
Predictions for The Pit Boss 250
Concluding Our NASCAR Xfinity Series Preview: Gibbs returns to Circuit of the Americas after last year saw an unfortunate end to his race. Allmendinger has a history of success in the series at this event but Gibbs could get close to or earn a consecutive pole position. From there, he’d just need to stay out of trouble and hope for some better luck.
For the longer odds, Smith would be a surprise victory with a great payout. Fellow rookie Sammy Smith became the fourth-youngest Xfinity Series winner in Phoenix a couple of weeks ago. It could be time for the best rookie of the season so far to get his first win, too. Keep it tuned right here all season long for the latest NASCARÂ standings
