United Rentals 200 Betting Odds Preview: NASCAR Xfinity Series fans were treated to a close finish last week in Las Vegas. Xfinity points leader Austin Hill chased down rookie Chandler Smith in the closing laps for his second win in 2023.
Justin Allgaier, second in the standings, was close behind Hill to continue his run of podiums this season.
Hill, Allgaier, and Production Alliance 300 winner John Hunter Nemechek are starting to separate from the rest of the Xfinity Series field. Smith, the lead rookie in 2023, isn’t too far off as well heading into this weekend’s race in Phoenix.
Here’s a look at the odds for the United Rentals 200:
Leaders, Cup Series Driver at the Top
Kyle Busch’s streak of Xfinity Cup wins ended last week. He went five for five in 2022 but managed just fourth in his home race in Las Vegas. He’ll look to get back in victory lane Saturday in Phoenix. He’s the favorite at +300 and has raced well in Phoenix historically. That history includes 11 Xfinity Series wins and three Cup Series victories. Like in Las Vegas, a win for Busch would be no surprise.
Nemechek and Allgaier are tied with the second-best odds at +500. Nemechek’s consistently finished close to the top in Phoenix during his Xfinity Series career. He’s never finished lower than ninth and raced well in Las Vegas.
Allgaier has multiple wins in Phoenix over his years in the Xfinity Series. He’s yet to win this season but is off to the best start of his Xfinity career. It took him 11 weeks to win a race last year in Darlington. That win could come much sooner in race four this Saturday.
Josh Berry and Cole Custer are behind that group at +700 . Neither has won a race this season and both sit roughly 70 points behind Hill and the others at the top of the standings.
Custer’s had a couple of top-five finishes in Xfinity races in Phoenix, both in 2019. Berry’s had more recent success with a third-place finish in this race last season.
Long Shots Worth Considering
United Rentals 200 Betting Odds Preview Continued: Though it’s not a very long shot, Smith (+1200) could be a good choice. He took pole last week and led the most laps. Phoenix is a good track for him, too. He took a win and three podiums in his Camping World Truck Series career. Finding the top spot again for his first Xfinity Series win is a possibility this weekend.
Riley Herbst (+2500) is winless in his Xfinity Series career. But he’s started 2023 by stringing three top-eight finishes together for just the second time in his career in the series. He sits a not-so-distant fifth behind Hill, Allgaier, Nemechek, and Smith in the standings. A win in Phoenix could put him in the fight for the championship early.
Odds to Avoid
Hill (+1800) is fresh off his second win in three races but there’s no way he can win three out of four, right? He’s never won at any level in Phoenix and his best Xfinity Series result there was ninth in last year’s season finale. A top-six finish isn’t out of the question but a win seems like a tough shot.
