United Rentals Work United 500 Betting Odds: Blazing it Up in Phoenix
NASCAR Heads Back Where Joey Logano Won his Second Title Last Season

Ruoff Mortgage 500 Betting Odds Preview: Three races, three different winners for the start of the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series. William Byron scored his first win of the season in a thrilling overtime finish. He led a Hendrick Motorsports podium ahead of Kyle Larson and Alex Bowman.
Now, the Cup Series turns to Phoenix, where last Cup Series race saw 2022 champion Joey Logano dominate on his way to a title. Is he favored in a return to Phoenix International Raceway? Here’s your betting primer for the Ruoff Mortgage 500.
Trio at The Top
Unsurprisingly, Logano (+800) shares the best odds for a win in his first race back as defending champion. He took pole position last week in Las Vegas but crashed with Brad Keselowski and Kyle Busch on lap 183. His crew couldn’t repair the car in time.
That unfortunate end belies what’s been a good start to his title defense. It’s a good sign the calendar heads to Phoenix this week. It’s a good track for Logano – he’s scored three Cup Series wins and a further five top-five finishes.
He shares the best odds with Ryan Blaney. Blaney sits in 15th in the championship right now coming off a 13th-place finish in Las Vegas. He’s never won in Phoenix but has finished in the top-five in his last three races there. He’ll have a solid chance on Sunday for his first win of the season.
Larson (+900) rounds out the top three in odds. Second-place in last week’s race boosts him up to 14th in the championship standings. Another solid showing that is one spot better would push him even higher. His performances in Phoenix last year (36th and 9th) were much worse than in years past. He’s notched one Cup Series win and a further five top-five finishes there.
Longer Odds to Consider
Continuing Our Ruoff Mortgage 500 Betting Odds Preview: Statistically, Phoenix is Kevin Harvick’s (+1100) best track. He’s had more wins there (nine) and top-five finishes (19) than any other track in his Cup Series career. In 40 races, he’s averaging an eighth-place finish every year which is one of his best career marks. He has history on his side for a chance at the win on Sunday.
Bowman (+2000) is one of just three Cup Series drivers from Arizona. He’s never won his home race; in fact, he’s only notched one top-10 finish in all of his Cup races at home. But Bowman’s been the most consistent driver to start 2023. No other driver has finished in the top eight in all three races. He’s second to Ross Chastain in the standings and could pull a surprise at his home race.
Odds to Avoid
Kyle Busch (+1000) has some of the better odds of the field but it’d be a surprise to see a repeat winner so soon. Though he’s eighth in the championship standings, that’s buoyed by his win in Fontana in week two.
Martin Truex Jr. (+1100) hasn’t performed well at Phoenix historically. In 34 career Cup Series races there, Truex Jr. has one win and cracked the top five just six total times. His average finish (15th) is one of the worst marks on the calendar. History isn’t on his side for this week.
Prediction for United Rentals Work United 500
Concluding Our Ruoff Mortgage 500 Betting Odds Preview: It’d almost be too poetic for Logano to take a second win in a row at Phoenix. Instead, Larson gets the pick of the favorites here. His podium last week is more along the lines of what he expected coming into this season. Be sure to keep it tuned right here for the latest NASCAR cup series standings, along with the most recent NASCAR odds.
For longer odds, Bowman could spring a surprise thanks to his consistency so far in 2023. A win at home could boost his chances at the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series title early on.
