Bulls vs Nets Betting Odds: Fade Nets on Back-to-Back

Brooklyn Snapps 4-Game Losing Streak Beats Pacers

The Bulls vs Nets betting odds are in favor of the home team tonight, but is that really the right side? Let’s find out. To say that the Brooklyn Nets have been struggling to start the season would be an understatement. Sure, they beat the Indiana Pacers on Monday night, which snapped their four-game losing streak, but they also lost to Indiana two nights earlier.

Thus far, the Nets’ losses have come against the Pacers, Mavericks, Bucks, Grizzlies and Pelicans, while their only two wins have come over the Pacers and Raptors. While they haven’t exactly been winning a ton of games, they are also failing to cover, going 1-6 in the NBA against the spread. On the Bulls’ side of things, they’ve gotten out to a slightly better start with a 3-4 record, but are coming off of two straight losses to the Spurs and Sixers.

Bulls Injury Report

Our Bulls vs Nets betting odds preview starts off by taking a look at who might be on the floor for Chicago on Tuesday night. They have a long injury report heading into the matchup with a ton of names listed as questionable. Zach LaVine headlines that list for injury management, while Ayo Dosunmu is questionable with a neck and back injury, and Coby White with a quad injury. Meanwhile, Andre Drummond is out with a shoulder injury and Lonzo Ball continues to be out as he recovers from his knee surgery. That doesn’t leave a whole lot of healthy players for the Bulls.

With this being the first night of a back-to-back for Chicago, we would expect that LaVine’s questionable tag will be removed before tipoff, but if it does in fact get moved to ‘out,’ that means that the majority of the scoring load will be on the shoulders of DeMar DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic. DeRozan is capable of putting up huge numbers as he’s currently ranked 15th on the NBA scoring leaders 2022 list, averaging 25.9 points per game. Vucevic will also have the advantage down low against a weaker Nets frontcourt. Chicago will also need players such as Patrick Williams and Goran Dragic to step up in the scoring department if they want to cover the Bulls vs Nets betting odds of Brooklyn -1.5.

No Defense for the Nets

Thankfully for Chicago, scoring against the Nets hasn’t been a challenge for opposing teams. Brooklyn is giving up the 3rd-most points per game, surrendering 120.3 per game. They’re allowing teams to shoot 47.5% from the field and 41.4% from deep.

Needless to say, the defense hasn’t been their strong suit this season. They are also playing their second back-to-back of the season after beating the Pacers last night, which means it’s likely their play on that side of the ball continues to dip. That leads us to believe that Chicago can cover the Bulls vs Nets betting odds and that the over of 230.5 is the right play.
