Can The Aces Close Out The First Half With a Win?
Sky vs Aces Odds: Las Vegas' Rebounding is a Major Key

The Las Vegas Aces are 9-1 in their last ten games and would finish the first half of the season at the top of the Western Conference with a win tonight.
They’ll take on the Chicago Sky at home. While the Sky has improved throughout the season, Chicago is still 9-14 and below average.
The Sky have lost three of their last four games, with the only win coming against the Atlanta Dream at home.
The Aces and Sky played an earlier matchup head-to-head on June 27 and earned a 12-point victory on the road. This time, they’ll be home and are still heavy favorites.
- Las Vegas is -13 (-118) against the spread (ATS), with the total of 173. The under is juiced to -112.

Sky vs Aces Odds & Trends
The Chicago Sky are 9-14 straight up and also 9-14 against the spread. They’ve failed to earn a winning record at home or on the road and have hit the Over one more time than the Under this season.
On the other hand, the Aces might be 16-7, but they’re just 10-13 ATS. Still, Las Vegas is 8-4 at home and have also hit the Over in one more game.
Additionally, the Aces covered a 10.5-point spread against the Sky the first time out, after earning a 12-point victory. The WNBA odds for the Over 173 also hit in that game.
Angel Reese’s Double-Double Streak Ended
Reese added a 15-game double-double streak throughout the first half of the regular season. However, that streak finally ended in Chicago’s recent game against the Liberty.
Reese, needing two points, asked for the ball with seconds remaining down by many points. When she got the ball in the post, Reese was swarmed by Liberty players and unable to get a shot up.
The Liberty wouldn’t allow Reese to score to achieve another double-double, ending the streak at 15 games.
It’s still a WNBA record.
With that out of the way, the Sky hope they can still compete for a spot in the WNBA playoffs.
Propping up the backup since Angel Reese’s streak ended 😭 https://t.co/IYmNopL91h

A’ja Wilson’s Poise
Currently, A’ja Wilson would be the Most Valuable Player in the WNBA this season. It likely won’t change by the end of the year, either.
- Wilson has averaged 27.2 points and 11.9 rebounds per game this season. She’s also shot nearly 53% from the field and helped lead the Aces to a terrific end to the year’s first half.
Wilson has earned at least 24 points and 12 rebounds in her last five matchups. Wilson added a career-high 20 rebounds against the Storm and then returned with 33 points and 18 points against the Dream.
Her poise allowed her to win the 2024 ESPY Award for Best Female Athlete, the first time a WNBA athlete had won that award since 2016.
Wilson is dominating the WNBA based on these recent WNBA scores.

Las Vegas Will Be Ready
The Chicago Sky have only averaged 78.7 points per game this season. They’ve also scored just 95.5 points per 100 possessions and have the 11th-highest field goal percentage in the league at 42.3%.
The Sky are also weak from the foul line, hitting just 74.5% from the charity stripe. They’ve shot an effective field goal percentage of 45.5% and have scored just .99 points per scoring attempt, which is dead last in the league.
Furthermore. the Sky rank 11th in two-point field goals and 9th in 3-point field goals. They’ve been terrible offensively for most of the year.
- On the other hand, the Aces are one of the best offenses in the WNBA. They’ve added 88.9 points per game, the best rate in the WNBA.
They’ve also nailed 84% from the foul line and have a margin of 8.5 per game.
Additionally, Las Vegas has added 1.14 points per scoring attempt and .99 points per play, which have the Aces ranked No. 1.
In addition, the Aces are very good defensively. They’ve held opponents to 42.7% from the field this season. While it’s not the best rate in the WNBA, the Aces still rank 5th in that category.
- Teams have only shot 45.7% from inside the arc against Las Vegas.
On the flip side, the Sky are defensively comparable to the Aces. They’ve held teams to 32.2% from downtown and 49% from inside the arc.
The Aces have a lot of offensive talent. But while Chicago usually adds a high rate of offensive rebounds, the Aces are the best defensive rebounding team in the league.
Chicago might rank No. 1 in the WNBA in offensive rebounds and are first in total rebounds per game, but the Sky have the highest defensive rebounding rate.
If the Sky can’t grab second chances off misses, they’ll have no chance to win. After reviewing the Sky vs Aces odds, take the Aces at -13.5 (-108) for tonight’s WNBA game.
