Celtics vs Heat Odds: Miami on Brink of Historic Sweep
Celtics Crumbling in Embarrassing Fashion

Boston Left Sweating in Miami
The Boston Celtics are facing an improbable sweep heading into Game 4 of their Eastern Conference Finals matchup with the Miami Heat after opening as -600 favorites in this series. Let’s dive into the Celtics vs Heat Odds for this elimination showdown in South Beach.
The Celtics seemingly imploded on court in Game 3 as the team put in their worst performance of the postseason en route to a 128-102 loss. Head coach Joe Mazzulla hinted after the game that there’s dysfunction in the locker room, which makes it hard to envision a world where the team shows up in a meaningful way for Game 4.
Meanwhile, the Heat are exuding a level of confidence that has their role players playing well above expectations. Jimmy Butler had just 16 points on 5-for-13 shooting in Game 3 and yet the Heat led by 20+ points for almost the entirety of the second half.
The Heat are currently favorites for the first time in the series as they are listed as 1.5-point favorites by bookmakers. The full game total has been set at 215.0 points – the Over is 3-0 so far this series.
Can Celtics Recover from Humiliating Blow?
Joe Mazzulla said all the right things postgame as he continued to take the heat for his teams poor performance, but the questions regarding his future and that of their superstar duo will only get louder after this series is done.
The Celtics have shown up in big playoff games the past couple seasons but things look and feel very different at the moment after they seemingly quit on each other in Game 3.
A lot has been asked of Mazzulla’s credentials and abilities throughout this NBA playoff run, but regardless of what your opinion might be on him as a coach there’s only so much that anyone can achieve with a team that is showing no effort or fight on the floor.
Jayson Tatum said after Game 3 that they simply “must have some pride” going into Game 4, but trusting this team to do so after the lifeless performance they put up with their NBA season on the line in Game 3 makes it difficult to want to engage in anything involving this team at the moment.
While Boston’s talent is undeniable there’s simply something wrong with this NBA team right now and assuming they’ll be able to work through that in such a short turnaround seems wishful thinking at best.
Miami Playing Incredible Team Basketball
Things couldn’t be any different in the Miami locker room right now. The team is completely in sync on and off the court, and the confidence of their star player is seemingly contagious amongst the rest of the playing group.
Caleb Martin was again a standout off the bench in Game 3 and is now averaging 19.3 points on 63% shooting in this series. Not to be outdone, Duncan Robinson has gone from the forgotten man to scoring 37 points in the last two games of this series while shooting a remarkable 8-for-13 from beyond the arc.
Erik Spoelstra continues to push the right buttons and things simply couldn’t be going any smoother for a Miami team that was quite literally 5 minutes away from having their season end in the play-in tournament by Chicago!
Their offense has shot over 40% from 3-point range all playoffs and they show no signs of letting up. Confidence is the toughest thing to take away from a team and right now a disheartened Boston team doesn’t look like they’ll be the ones to stop it.
Any NBA expert picks still backing Boston at this point are overlooking some major issues and assuming they can function in a way that resembles the best version of themselves – We are strongly of the opinion that won’t be the case.
Miami is still a great value on the Moneyline and that’s by far and away the best value on the board at the moment. Playing their Team Total Over also looks a great bet given how well they continue to shoot at the moment.
