Grizzlies vs Philadelphia 76ers Betting Odds: Sixers Ready to Rumble
Grizzlies Hope to Rediscover Bite

Philly Back Home to Ring in Second Half
The NBA is back and the Philadelphia 76ers begin their run home with a showdown against the Memphis Grizzlies. Let’s take a look at the Grizzlies vs Philadelphia 76ers Betting Odds and see if we can find some early value for bettors.
The 76ers went into the All-Star break winning four straight games and sitting third in the Eastern Conference standings. Joel Embiid remains amongst the frontrunners for MVP honors this season, but the primary focus for the team will be on finding consistency and staying in contention for that top seed in the East.
Things were spiralling for the Grizzlies heading into the All-Star break but they still remain the number two seed in the West. Memphis won just four of their last 13 games, but did begin to turn things around on their home court before the week off. The question now is whether they can begin to replicate those efforts on the road.
The 76ers are currently 4.0-point favorites in the market for this one. The total has been set at 229.5 points.
Sixers Still Performing Strong in the Market
The Philadelphia 76ers are still the second-best against-the-spread (ATS) team in the NBA this season, with a 33-23-1 (58.9%) record.
They’ve been even more dominant at home where they are 20-10-1 (66.7%) ATS while owning a +6.0 points differential to match.
The tandem of Harden and Joel Embiid are always a matchup nightmare for teams but it’s the effort and efficiency they get from their role players on their home court that makes them a different team to try and contain on offense.
The Sixers are averaging 117.3 points per 100 possessions at home this season and rank top-10 in both offensive and defensive efficiency. Their outside shooting is the biggest differentiator at home, with the team averaging 40% from beyond the arc in their home gym, second only to the Denver Nuggets in that regard.
If they can again execute at that level in this one it should be enough to take care of a Memphis team that simply cannot get the offensive consistency required to win games against elite teams at the moment.
Philadelphia is also 15-7 (68.2%) ATS against Western Conference opponents this season and there’s a reason why this team is still in everyone top-5 NBA team rankings heading into the final months of the season.
Grizzlies Need to Fix Road Woes
The Memphis Grizzlies are currently 9-18-1 (33.3%) ATS as a road team this season, making them the second-worst ATS team on the road on the season.
The team owns a -2.2 point differential when they’re the travelling team and are bottom-10 in points per 100 possessions, effective field goal percentage and free throw rate – not somewhere you want to be when travelling to face an offense as hot as Philly’s.
Their halfcourt offense has remained an issue all season long and that’s only been magnified since losing Steven Adams to injury. The Kiwi center remains out and his efforts on the offensive glass have long masked the issues this offense has by being able to generate so many extra possessions and second chance opportunities.
Adams leads NBA player stats in offensive rebounding percentage and in his absence the Grizzlies have lost arguably their biggest offensive weapon.
That said, the Grizzlies have performed well against Eastern Conference opponents this season where they’re 15-8-1 (65.2%) ATS. They’ve also covered the spread in five of their last seven trips to the East coast.
Despite that this one seems too much for them to overcome and if there was ever a matchup where missing Adams would become evident it’s on the road against Embiid and company.
The Philadelphia 76ers offense will simply be too much for Memphis to have to keep pace with and if the home team controls the pace as we expect then the Grizzlies half court issues are again going to be their undoing here. Lay the points with Philadelphia in this spot as they return to action with style in front of their home fans.
