Khris Middleton Next Team Odds: Forward Opts Out

Middleton Walks Away From $40.4 Million Player Option

Khris Middleton opted out of a $40.4 million player option with the Milwaukee Bucks. It’s believed the two sides are working on a longer-term deal at a lower price. But whatever the two may do, Middleton is a free agent. The Khris Middleton next team odds are based on him not returning for another season with the Milwaukee Bucks. Obviously, Milwaukee would like to keep him. But it’s not out of the question if he receives an offer he can’t refuse. Middleton could suit up for somebody else this season.

With Middleton and Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Bucks have often been near the top of the NBA standings more often than not. But having won an NBA championship, Middleton may decide to go for the big payday, which will likely come from a different team.

But many acquisitions are made to keep the team’s star player happy. And if Antetokounmpo wants Middleton back, the Bucks will try to do so. But other teams, such as Portland with Damian Lillard or Dallas with Luka Doncic, will be looking at Middleton to keep their stars happy.

Khris Middleton Next Team Odds

The Favorites

Oklahoma City Thunder +400
Orlando Magic +500
Dallas Mavericks +600
Houston Rockets +600
Sacramento Kings +600
Miami Heat +700

Middleton makes sense for most of the teams on this list. Dallas is trying to convince Doncic to stay long-term, while the Rockets will have plenty of cash to spend.

Houston has been tied to several veterans this offseason, including James Harden and Fred VanVleet. But Houston may need more talent to entice Middleton to sign there. With Harrison Barnes leaving Sacramento, Middleton would fit nicely with the Kings. But that also appears to be reflected in the Khris Middleton next team odds payout.

The Contenders

Portland Trail Blazers +800
Charlotte Hornets +1000
Chicago Bulls +1000
Washington Wizards +1000
Los Angeles Lakers +1200
Boston Celtics +1600

While Middleton would be a solid signing for any of these teams, not all can afford him, barring additional moves. Portland is possible, but the Blazers will be forking a hefty sum to Jerami Grant.

The Lakers and Celtics are options if Middleton is more concerned with the NBA scores and standings than with money. But if that’s the case, why not stay with Milwaukee?

The Longshots

Toronto Raptors +1800
Golden State Warriors +2000
Philadelphia 76ers +2000
Detroit Pistons +2500
Los Angeles Clippers +2500
New York Knicks +2500

It’s hard to picture any of these teams signing Middleton. But stranger things have happened in the NBA. The Pistons could offer Middleton a nice deal, and he’d remain in the Midwest. Detroit makes the most sense of any of these teams, but it’s a long shot for a reason.

If you’re going to play the Khris Middleton next-team odds wager, there’s nothing wrong with looking for a little bit of a payout. The Sacramento Kings offer a fair price at +600 and give Middleton a chance to be with an up-and-coming team.
