Lakers vs Nuggets Conference Final Odds: Lakers Run Out of Ball Arena in 4th
Will Joker Have the Last Laugh or Do Lakers Right Sinking Ship?

Spread Flips as Series Shifts to L.A.
The Lakers are down 0-2 in the Western Conference Finals but are 2-0 against the spread (ATS). Los Angeles did a better job on the Nuggets defensively for Game 2 as it covered the 5.5-point spread by a hair, losing 108-103. The spread now flips with the Lakers favored by 5.5 points per the Lakers vs Nuggets Conference Final odds. Playing at home, the team needs to put it together to, at least, win a game.
Lakers vs Nuggets Game 3
Can Lakers’ Dynamic Duo Match Denver’s?
With a spread of -5.5, the Lakers have less room for error if they are to both win and cover. Thus far, the Lakers covered their Lakers vs Nuggets Conference Final odds with a late offensive surge in Game 1 and a more cohesive defense early in Game 2. But they lost both games because they couldn’t do it across four quarters.
Both their stars, LeBron James and Anthony Davis, need to be better. Davis, who had 40 points in Game 1, was held to just 18 in Game 2. He had as many field goals, four, as he had turnovers and personal fouls.
“No, I got the same looks. A lot of them were just short tonight. I’ll be better,” Davis told the media when asked about what Denver did differently against him for Game 2. “I liked all the looks that I got today. Just a lot of them (were) short. I’m going to continue to shoot those shots and I’ve got to be better, more efficient, (to) help the team win. So, I’ll be better.”
As for James, he was one rebound shy of his 29th playoff triple-double. He scored 22 points but failed to match Denver’s output in the fourth. James missed all six of his 3-point attempts and has yet to make one in the series. In fact, he has not made a 3 in the fourth quarter since Game 1 against Memphis.
Of course, James is 38. He’s not the same dominant force he once was, especially coming off a major injury. But with Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray playing like superstars, the Lakers need James to “turn back the clock”, especially with D’Angelo Russell and Dennis Schroder being non-factors.
Expect NBA expert picks to predict a bounceback from both Davis and James. The team should get back in the series.
“Playoff Murray:” is a Problem
As the Lakers’ stars catch their breath, Murray comes back to Earth following a furious fourth-quarter run that saved Denver from the clutches of defeat. The Canadian star scored 23 of his 37 points in the fourth quarter. He scored Denver’s final 12 points and this clutch performance would go down as one of the best on the NBA rankings.
“We all know one thing about Jamal, man, he just has to see one go in,” Nuggets head coach Mike Malone said after Game 2. “That’s all he needs. And after that, he’s shooting into a hula hoop.”
Murray struggled in the first half of Game 2. He shot just 3-of-13 and 2-of-8 from 3. Still, he stayed aggressive and came through when it mattered. The Nuggets still failed to cover thanks to their slow start and the total went much lower than the 225.5 points it was lined at. But the most important thing is that the team won.
Now, the total is set to 223.5, which is in the middle of the totals from Game 1 (222.5) and Game 2. The first game was an offensive battle while the second was a defensive struggle until Murray got hot in the fourth.
Jokic, on the other hand, put up another triple-double with 23 points, 17 rebounds, and 12 assists. However, he shot just 9-of-21 and had five turnovers. Denver won so they would take that any day. But the team is 0-4-1 ATS in their last five games against the Lakers. If it is to beat the Lakers vs Nuggets Conference Final odds, both Murray and Jokic will need to stay efficient and more cons.
