Mavericks vs. Warriors Game Preview

Warriors Looking to Go Up 2-0, Can Mav's Steal One?

The Golden State Warriors look to extend their Western Conference Finals lead and our Mavericks vs. Warriors game preview looks at game two on Friday.

In danger of it becoming another blowout, the Dallas Mavericks need to bounce back and even the series, however, the sportsbook believes the Warriors will be too good and take a 2-0 lead.

Visitors Need Resolve

Getting blown out in the opening game in the series isn’t the way the Dallas Mavericks wanted to start.

They were unable to find an offensive rhythm after scoring just 18 points in the first quarter and most of the damage was because they couldn’t hit a three-pointer.

Luka Doncic wasn’t at his brilliant best and that was mostly due to the Golden State Warriors defense, which frustrated the Mavericks.

There weren’t many positives for the visitors but game two allows them to right the ship and potentially take a 1-1 split, which they would happily take.

“We would like to play our pace but the Warriors have a unique pace, they’re going to get out and put a lot of pressure on your defense in transition,” Mavericks coach Jason Kidd told ESPN. “We have to be cautious of that. We don’t want a track meet.”

Dallas Mavericks betting has the visitors as outsiders for the game at Chase Center, but that’s not surprising. They will need to play much better to close the gap and the game one loss might have shaken the confidence of bettors.

We have seen teams come back from being blown out and the Mavericks are too good to ignore. Doncic has been a one-man wrecking crew in the playoffs and he doesn’t often play poorly in consecutive games.

Our Mavericks vs. Warriors game preview is giving the Mavericks a chance of winning and covering the betting spread, but they’ll need to play much better.

Warriors Start with Big Win

As we take a look at Mavericks vs. Warriors game preview, you couldn’t script a better opening game for the Golden State Warriors, who won 112-87 and it was total domination from beginning to end.

Steph Curry had 21 points, 12 rebounds, and four assists for the double-double, which was enough for the Warriors to score a comfortable win.

The Golden State Warriors’ next game is what matters and they can’t rest on their laurels of a Game One victory.

The Warriors must keep the pedal to the metal and force the Mavericks to head home down 0-2, which is the best possible scenario.

The Warriors opened as -6½ favorites and that’s the line we expected. They won by 25 points in the opening contest and they’re good enough to cause more pain for the Mavericks.

Draymond Green was an important part of their success with 10 points and nine rebounds. He also made some key defensive plays, so there are no weak spots for the Warriors.

All five starters scored double figures and team ball is one reason why the Warriors have so much success in the NBA.

Covering the -6½ spread could prove difficult but bettors should feel confident betting on the better team in the Western Conference series. Be sure to check back right here for a preview of the Golden State Warriors next game.
