Three Tight Games

In a thrilling Game 1, the Mavericks narrowly beat the Timberwolves with a final score of 108-105. Despite a close contest throughout, the Mavericks surged ahead in the final moments to secure the win. Minnesota’s key players, Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns, struggled to find their shooting rhythm, managing only 35 points combined. However, Jaden McDaniels shone for the Timberwolves, scoring 24 points and draining a handful of big 3s.

Meanwhile, the Mavericks relied on the standout performances of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, who combined for 63 points. Doncic led the scoring with 33 points and controlled the game’s tempo, while Irving’s efficient shooting (12-of-23 from the field) proved pivotal in sealing the victory for Dallas.

In Game 2, Luka Doncic once again proved his dominance with a clutch shot that secured the Mavericks a 2-0 series lead. Doncic’s heroics, coupled with his fifth triple-double of the playoffs, propelled Dallas to a narrow 109-108 win, despite trailing by 18 points at one stage. Doncic finished with 32 points, 13 assists, and 10 rebounds, demonstrating why he’s considered one of the league’s best players.

While Naz Reid impressed for the Timberwolves, Minnesota struggled to contain Doncic and Irving in the crucial moments. Irving, who had been quiet from beyond the arc, exploded in the fourth quarter with four 3-pointers, ending the game with 20 points. Once again, Towns and Edwards failed to find their rhythm, managing only 36 points combined on a disappointing 9-of-33 shooting performance.

Game 3 was another back-and-forth battle, but once again Dallas was able to make a late-game surge and win, 116-107. Once again, Luka and Kyrie led the Mavericks, each scoring 33 points. Despite an early scare with rookie center Dereck Lively II suffering a sprained neck, Dallas was able to lean on the offensive genius of Doncic and Irving to secure them their fifth straight playoff win.

Although Minnesota’s Edwards almost put up a triple-double, scoring 26 points, with nine rebounds and nine assists, he wasn’t able to keep up pace late when the Timberwolves needed him most. Karl-Anthony Towns once again struggled from the field only going 5-of-18, and missing all eight of his 3-point attempts.

Not in My Towns

Minnesota’s Karl-Anthony Towns has left a lot to be desired in this series. His scoring totals have decreased each game, starting with a measly 16-point performance, and continuing with 15 and 14-point games. Not only has Towns struggled to put the ball in the basket, but he has shot with embarrassing inefficiency. Towns is a combined 15-for-54 on field goals in the series and 3-of-22 from 3-point land.

In Towns’ last eight games these playoffs he has only hit his points prop twice. He averaged 21.8 points per game this regular season and has only scored over 21 points three times in his ten playoff games.

Towns are not coming to save Minnesota. He hasn’t made more than two 3-pointers since Game 3 against the Nuggets, and it doesn’t seem like Dallas is going to let him get going in Game 4. Look at the Towns points or 3-pointers under bet in Game 4 for some possible value.

Minnesota’s Final Shot

Our Wolves vs Mavs Game 4 preview has the odds for Game 4 as Mavericks -2. The total is set at 210. To win straight up the Mavericks are -130 favorites to the Timberwolves +110.

If Minnesota can’t grab a win on Tuesday, the Mavericks will be starting to look at the NBA Finals schedule, planning out their next couple weeks.
