Uncover Exclusive Picks & Predictions From Our Experts.

These teams get ugly when facing each other as their last five games have all gone under the totals. The total of 160 is one of the lowest this season as Minnesota looks to cover as slight favorites.

Mystics Surviving without Several Key Players

It has been an injury-riddled season for Washington. And yet, the team is managing to keep afloat in the WNBA standings thanks to the likes of Natasha Cloud picking up her play. Cloud has blossomed as the team’s starting point guard. And lately, she’s carried the load for an offensively challenged team.

“Overall, I just want to be the best point guard that I can be for this team,” Cloud said. “When you talk about players like Sue [Bird], and even [Diana Taurasi], Lindsay Whalen, right now, they talk about Chelsea Gray a lot — I’m in the conversation, and I don’t think that’s talked about enough.”

The 31-year-old continues to play with a chip on her shoulder and it has usually led to success for her team. In her last four games, Cloud has averaged 17 points, 6.8 assists, and 2.3 steals. Washington went 2-2 and 3-1 against the spread (ATS).

Elena Delle Donne continues to sit out with an ankle injury. Others sidelined are Ariel Atkins, Kristi Toliver, and Shakira Austin. Overall, the Mystics are missing plenty of firepower hence why the team is just seventh in offensive rating (102.1). But the Mystics continue to push and play solid defense.

This is why the Mystics vs Lynx odds list a low number even with eight of Washington’s games either going over or pushing on the total. With Cloud elevating her game, Washington could just get enough offense to stage an upset.

Lynx Holding on by a Thread

Injuries are something the Lynx are familiar with. But unlike Washington, Minnesota is not threading water. It is drowning and has been blown out in four of its last five games.

Its only win came against a similarly shorthanded Sparks team, which only came by three points. While the Mystics are still a capable two-way team, the Lynx are one of the worst WNBA teams on defense.

Minnesota’s defensive rating of 107.5 is ranked 10th. But this team casually allows teams to explode for 100+ points every so often. There might be some value in betting the over on the Mystics vs Lynx odds as even an undermanned team like Washington could drop 90+ if it tried.

Napheesa Collier has put the team on her back like Cloud with Washington. But unlike Cloud who has Brittney Sykes, Collier barely has anyone to consistently give 15+ points a night.

Dorka Juhasz and Diamond Miller stepped up against the Sparks. The pair combined to score 29 points and added 17 rebounds and 12 assists together.

But against Vegas, they were exposed as Miller was turnover prone (five turnovers to three assists) while Juhasz was just quiet.

It’s interesting to see Minnesota favored even as the home team. Washington has covered three of their last four meetings and has even won its last two visits. Thus, WNBA predictions should be more evenly split here despite the odds.
