NBA 2022-2023 Wins Totals: Three Teams Still Undecided

Unders Cash Big on Season Win Totals

Grizzlies, Celtics Still Chasing Their Totals

Only 10 teams have gone Over their season win totals so far this season, with the Denver Nuggets, Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers the top teams to clear their large totals. Let’s take a look at the NBA 2022-2023 Wins Totals and see how the market performed, plus take a look at the teams whose totals are still in play.

The Memphis Grizzlies and Boston Celtics are two teams who could still go Over their pre-season win totals, with the former just one game away from clearing their total despite a turbulent season full of injuries and absences.

They should get that win tonight when they play host to a Portland Trail Blazers team sitting their entire starting lineup. Memphis are 18.5-point home favorites and will likely secure the #2 seed with a win meaning they can look to sit their stars for the final three games against the New Orleans Pelicans, Oklahoma City Thunder and the Bucks.

The Boston Celtics meanwhile need to win two of their four remaining games to go Over their win total, which means player rest could play a big role in dictating their outcome in the market.

Boston has a division matchup at Philadelphia where they are 2.5-point underdogs before having back-to-back home games with the Toronto Raptors, who themselves are locked in a battle for play-in seeding. Then, they round off the regular season with a home game against the Atlanta Hawks, who may or may not be resting players depending on their status for the play-in tournament.

Despite the moving parts and possible variables in play the assumption is the Celtics would still be expected to win two of those home games, even if they do limit their starter minutes and loosen up their rotations.

The other remaining team with their win total still undecided is the Washington Wizards, who are 1.5 games below their pre-season total with four games left on their schedule. Unfortunately for Washington fans and bettors, the team has certainly pulled the plug on the season and looks to simply be going through the motions to close out.

They have games versus the Bucks, Heat and Rockets remaining, plus a trip to Atlanta to face the Hawks. Both the Heat and Hawks have reasons to win and play their best basketball so it’s hard to see them grabbing wins in either of those. The team is currently 13.0-point underdogs for that game against Milwaukee.

Jazz, Kings Biggest Overs Winners

The Utah Jazz and Sacramento Kings were the teams who easily outperformed pre-season expectations as both cleared their win totals in impressive manner.

The Jazz were expected to tank from the opening day after trading away Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert, but the team remained in the playoff picture until this month when they began to slide out of the conversation. The team is currently 36-42, which is already comfortably Over their 26.5 win total that they cleared in early February prior to the All Star break.

The Kings, who currently sit in the #3 seed in the West, own a 47-31 record after being handed a pre-season win total of 34.5 games – a total they cleared in the first week back after the All Star break.

Another team who comfortably exceeded market projections and their NBA regular season odds are the Oklahoma City Thunder. They had a win total of 23.5 and currently look destined for a spot in the play-in tournament in the West. The team currently sits at 38-41 and had cleared their win total in the final week of January!

Warriors, Clippers Biggest Underachievers

The Golden State Warriors might end up being the biggest underachievers in the NBA 2022-2023 Wins Totals markets as they are set to fall comfortably shy of their 52.5 win total.

The team currently sits at 41-38 with three games left on their schedule – a home game with the Thunder followed by road trips to Sacramento and Portland. They are currently 8.0-point favorites at home to OKC tonight and could benefit from the fact the Kings and Blazers will likely be undermanned in those games respectively.

Even if they do win all their games they would still fall 8.5 wins shy of their total and that’s largely down to the fact they own one of the worst road records in the NBA. Their 9-30 record is only better than the Pistons, Spurs and Rockets – three teams set for top lottery odds in the upcoming draft.

The LA Clippers are looking at a similar outcome after they were also given a total of 52.5 wins in pre-season. They currently sit level with the Warriors with a 41-28 record, but are unlikely to be favored in all three of their remaining games.

Next up for the team is a showdown with the Lakers in a game of huge significance for both teams. The Clippers have not lost to the Lakers since Ty Lue took over as head coach, going 10-0 in that span. That said, the loss of Paul George has drastically altered the Clippers trajectory and it’s hard to gauge where exactly they stand right now in the market.

A road win against the Blazers should be a formality, but a final day matchup with the Phoenix Suns could be interesting depending on how both teams choose to approach that game and how the NBA team standings line up at the time. Just like the Warriors, they’ll finish 8.5 game shy of their total even if they do win out their schedule, but could very well end up being 10+ wins Under their total.
