NBA Friday Matchups Odds: Nets, Nuggets Headline Busy Day

Massive 11-Game Slate in the NBA

Brooklyn, Denver Look to Stay Hot

Two of the hottest teams in the NBA will be in action on a busy night in the NBA, with the Brooklyn Nets and Denver Nuggets both taking the floor in tough matchups. Let’s take a look at the NBA Friday Matchups Odds from across the league.

The Nets head on the road to New Orleans where they sit as 4.5-point favorites against a Pelicans team missing their All-Star forward, Zion Williamson. The former number one pick was diagnosed with a hamstring strain, but they do get some good news with Brandon Ingram likely to return to action after missing almost 20 games with a left toe contusion.

Brooklyn had its 12-game win streak snapped last time out and they’ll be hoping to get their defense back on track after giving up 121 points to the Chicago Bulls. The full game total opened at 231.0 points and was quickly moved to 230.5 points across the board as plenty of early action came in on the ‘Unders markets’.

The Nuggets are fresh off another home blowout win as they dismantled the LA Clippers, who were the best road team in the Western Conference prior to their loss in Denver. Mike Malone’s side have won 11 of their last 14 games and have taken over the top spot in the West as they continue to establish themselves as the best offense in the league right now.

Cleveland is set to be without some key pieces for this one, which does take some interest away from what would’ve been the biggest NBA Friday matchup odds tonight. Darius Garland and Evan Mobley both remain questionable, while Donovan Mitchell has been listed as a rest candidate.

Denver might also end up sitting some guys as they play their second of a back-to-back and third game in just four nights. The Nuggets opened as 7.5 point favorites, but that number could shift drastically in either direction depending on the final decision from both teams on their starters.

Important Showdowns on East Coast

The Philadelphia 76ers have opened as 5.0-point favorites at home to the Chicago Bulls, even without the services of Joel Embiid who has been ruled out with foot soreness for the second straight game.

The Bulls, who snapped Brooklyn’s 12-game win streak last time out, will have their starting lineup available, but may also be without key rotation pieces as Alex Caruso and Javonte Green have been listed as questionable. The total for this one has been set at 228.0 points and the Over has taken some early action, which isn’t surprising given the uptick in pace the Sixers play with when Embiid isn’t on the floor.

The Toronto Raptors will try to turn things around when they play host to the New York Knicks in pivotal game for both division rivals. The Raptors, who currently sit outside the play-in picture in the east, have opened as 3.0 point favorites.

‘RJ Barrett will again sit out for the Knicks while the Raptors have listed everyone available on the early injury report.’

The Milwaukee Bucks will also look to keep pace with the top teams as they take on the flailing Charlotte Hornets on the road. The Bucks are again set to be without Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton in this one, but have still opened as 10.5 point road favorites.

The Indiana Pacers will also look to keep their recent run going as they play host to the Portland Trail Blazers in an important NBA Friday matchup odds non-conference game. Both teams are currently 7th in their respective conferences and should have most of their key pieces available, with Jerami Grant the only starter listed as questionable for Portland.

Indiana is just 6-9 straight up against Western Conference teams this season. Both of these teams are the top two against-the-spread (ATS) teams in the league at the moment and the market seems equally strong on both in this spot with the Pacers priced as just 1.5-point favorites.

Best of the Rest

The Clippers will look to bounce back from their humiliating efforts in Denver as they travel to face the Minnesota Timberwolves on the second game of a back-to-back.

No Clipper starter played more than 18 minutes last night as coach Ty Lue played his bench for the entire second half in Denver. John Wall is available after sitting out against the Nuggets, but keep an eye on the NBA injury News report to see what they do with Paul George and Kawhi Leonard.

Bookmakers have listed the Timberwolves as 3.5-point home favorites, but that market is likely to move once player news is finalized.

The Miami Heat will round off a five-game West Coast road trip in Arizona as they take on the Phoenix Suns. The home side have opened as 1.5-point underdogs after going 0-4 on their East Coast trip.

‘The Suns are 14-5 straight up on their home floor this season and are currently +105 on the Moneyline for this one.’

The LA Lakers will aim for their fourth straight win when they host the Atlanta Hawks. The Lakers were 130-121 winners in Atlanta just a week ago where they closed as 6.0-point underdogs. The market has opened as PK in this one.

The OKC Thunder will host the Washington Wizards as 1.5-point favorites, with the road team once again missing star guard Bradley Beal. The San Antonio Spurs are also 1.5-point home favorites as they welcome the Detroit Pistons.
