NBA Matchups and Scores: Tuesday Market Recap

High Scoring Action Across the Board

Suns Pull Off Upset

The shorthanded Phoenix Suns snapped a six-game losing streak as they scored an impressive win as the biggest underdogs on a seven-game NBA slate. Let’s take a look at the NBA Matchups and Scores from across the NBA last night.

The Suns won outright as 12-point underdogs on the road against a Golden State Warriors team that welcomed back Steph Curry from injury. Phoenix closed at +566 on the moneyline and led at the end of every quarter as they shocked the Bay Area faithful on the back of some impressive outside shooting.

Deandre Ayton and Landry Shamet were both ruled out before tip-off, but that didn’t stop a spirited effort on national TV as Monty Williams’ team took a 3-0 season series lead over their division rivals. Phoenix will hope this can lead them to a revival in the NBA standings 2022-2023 season as they try to climb out of the play-in picture in the West.

The Orlando Magic were also big underdog winners as they secured a 109-106 win as 8.5-point underdogs at Portland.

The Magic were playing their second of a back-to-back but raced out to an early double-digit lead in the opening frame. The Blazers couldn’t find sustained offense and while they had three attempts to tie the game in the final 20 seconds they ultimately fell short as -300 favorites.

Home Teams Rule Supreme in the East

The Philadelphia 76ers made very light work of a depleted Detroit Pistons team en route to a 147-116 win.

The Sixers, who opened at -9.5 on most books, closed as -14.5-point favorites as Joel Embiid made his return from injury. The Pistons were without Bojan Bogdanovic and Isaiah Stewart as their injury woes continue to worsen.

The Toronto Raptors made it back-to-back wins and covers on their home floor as they took down the Charlotte Hornets at Scotiabank Arena.

The Hornets were alive for the majority of this game as 7.5-point underdogs, with the road team trailing by just one point with 8:22 to play in the final quarter. Toronto rattled off a 14-0 run to put the game beyond doubt and give themselves a much needed boost as they try to turn their season around.

A shorthanded Miami Heat team also managed to defend home court as they used an NBA-record 40 made free throws without a miss to secure a late one-point win over the OKC Thunder.

Jimmy Butler was a remarkable 23-for-23 at the line, which included the game-winning free throw on an ‘and-1’ in the final seconds of action.

Jazz, Clippers Secure Big Home Wins

The LA Clippers snapped their six-game losing streak with a 113-101 win over the Dallas Mavericks.

Despite being without Paul George once again the Clippers received plenty of late support in the marketplace, with the +1.0 line flipping to -1.5 points in the moment leading up to tip-off.

‘Kawhi Leonard had a season-high 33 points for the home team who never trailed in this one. Luka Doncic put up another MVP-like stat line as he finished with 43 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists in a losing effort.’

The Utah Jazz once again won outright as home underdogs as they rallied late against the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers. The Jazz closed as 3.0-point underdogs and trailed 107-102 with 3:13 to play before finishing on a 14-7 run that included a 7-point possession for the home side.

Over Bettors Cash In

The full game totals finished 5-2 in favor of the Overs as the high-scoring offenses continued to shine brightest.

The two late games in Portland and Los Angeles were the only two to stay Under the total and both received strong market support in that direction during the day.

Full game Overs are cashing at 55% over the past 30 days in the NBA, going 120-96 in that span.
