NBA Matchups Predictions: Detroit, Chicago Head to Paris

NBA Finals Rematch Headlines Exciting Day

From Paris to Boston

The NBA schedule makers have provided a big day of basketball action, starting with an early-tip in Paris before attention turns to Boston for a Finals rematch. Let’s take a look at our NBA matchups predictions to help forecast the best bets for the upcoming slate.

The Chicago Bulls and Detroit Pistons will do battle in France as the NBA continues its global initiative. The Bulls opened as 5.0-point favorites but were quickly bet up to -6.5 across the board.

Killian Hayes will be the only player to own any ‘home court advantage’ as he returns to his native country, but it doesn’t seem that’s enough to entice any buyback on Detroit in the marketplace. The total has been set at 236.5 points after their last meeting ended in a 132-118 win for Chicago in the final game of December.

All eyes will very much be on the TD Garden as the Boston Celtics play host to the Golden State Warriors in a game of huge expectations for the home side.

The Celtics remain the number one team in the NBA and after opening at -5.0 points and have been heavily backed to -6.5 points across the board. The Warriors already won the first rematch between these two on a night where Boston where completely outplayed, but they remain a different team on their home floor this season where they rank 3rd in net rating and points per possession.

Jaylen Brown is listed as questionable for the home team, but he did go through the shoot-around yesterday and hopes to make a return to action for this one.

Sixers, Raptors Look for Road Wins out West

The Philadelphia 76ers continue their west coast road trip with a pitstop in Portland to take on the Trail Blazers.

The Blazers, who are 12-7 ATS at home this season, have opened as 2.5 point underdogs in this one. The Sixers are 6-6 ATS as road favorites and while they’re yet to lose on this west coast road trip this does setup as being their toughest on court matchup.

The total for this one is set at 234.0 points and given how Philly struggles with high-scoring guards there’s every reason to expect a shootout here and the market to move in that direction as a result.

The Toronto Raptors will try to take advantage of a huge schedule advantage when they take on the Minnesota Timberwolves at Target Center.

‘Raptors opened as 3.0-point favorites but with Rudy Gobert nursing an injury and Anthony Edwards playing high minutes with hip soreness there’s every chance the Timberwolves sit their guys.’

The Timberwolves are not only on a back-to-back after playing at altitude in Denver, but are also playing their third game in four nights as well as their fifth in just seven nights. The Raptors opened as 3.0-point favorites but with Rudy Gobert nursing an injury and Anthony Edwards playing high minutes with hip soreness there’s every chance the Timberwolves sit their guys, which would result in this NBA points spread moving significantly in favor of the road team.

Struggling Nets Head to Phoenix

Two teams doing it tough are set to do battle in the desert as the Brooklyn Nets take on the Phoenix Suns.

Both team will be without key contributors, but the Suns have listed Chris Paul as questionable as he looks to make his return to action this week.

The Suns have the worst record in the NBA since the start of December but will be hoping that once the NBA injury report clears up for them they can return to being the team that sat atop the Western Conference standings in the opening month of the season.

Phoenix has opened as 1.0-point favorites for this one, largely because of Paul’s potential return as well as the possible absence of Kyrie Irving once more for Brooklyn. The Nets are currently 0-3 straight up and against the spread since losing Kevin Durant to a knee injury.

That’s all for tonight’s NBA Matchups predictions. Be sure to check back tomorrow as we take a look at the full slate of games to find the best angles and trends.
