NBA Monday Games Recap: Live Dogs Cash Big

Points Galore in Non-Conference Matchups

Pistons, Rockets Claim Big Wins

The Detroit Pistons and Houston Rockets were both outright winners as two of the worst teams in the league cashed big for underdog bettors. Let’s have a look at our NBA Monday Games Recap and see what went on in the marketplace around the league.

The Pistons closed as 4.0-point underdogs at home to the Indiana Pacers, despite the fact the visitors were missing Tyrese Haliburton, Myles Turner, TJ McConnell and Bennedict Mathurin.

Detroit were comfortable wire-to-wire leaders en route to a 117-97 win as they cashed the +150 Moneyline as well. The Pistons snapped a league-worst 11-game losing streak in the process.

The Rockets recorded a far more impressive win as they knocked off the Boston Celtics as 12.5-point home underdogs. Houston escaped with a 111-109 win as a last gasp Jayson Tatum effort at the rim was blocked to deny the visitors a chance in OT.

Houston closed +650 on the Moneyline as they handed Boston their fourth loss in their last six games.

Both underdog winners saw their respective games stay comfortably Under their respective totals as well. The full game Over/Unders went 4-3 in either direction depending on what number you got in Golden State vs Phoenix.

Warriors Dominant at Home, Giannis Stop the Beam

The Golden State Warriors resumed their home dominance as they walked out with a 123-112 win over the Phoenix Suns.

The Warriors closed as 4.5-point favorites and improved to league-best 24-11-1 (68.6%) ATS on their hardwood. The hosts ran out to a 22-point first quarter lead and led by 17 points at the half as Klay Thompson erupted for 33 points in the opening 24 minutes.

The Suns did pull it back to single digits in the fourth quarter but the Warriors were able to pull away down the stretch once again as they move back to the #5 seed in the Western Conference NBA standings 2023.

The Sacramento Kings were unable to Light the Beam at Golden 1 Center as the visiting Milwaukee Bucks came away with a 133-124 win.

Giannis Antetokounmpo made his return to the lineup for Milwaukee, which resulted in the road team closing as 3.5-point favorites for this one.

The Greek Freak finished with 46 points and 12 rebounds in 34 minutes of action as he made light work of a Sacramento defense that is still desperately lacking paint protection. The game also sailed Over the 246.0 point total as non-conference games went 3-1 (75%) to the Over on the night.

Mavs Keep Spiralling, Wolves Down Hawks

The Dallas Mavericks are barely hanging on to the #8 seed in the West following another loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Mavs had home court advantage this time but couldn’t make it count as they were downed 104-88 on a night where they were again without Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving or Christian Wood.

Head coach Jason Kidd admitted after the game that he doesn’t know what to expect between now and the end of the regular season, but given the trajectory of this team it’s difficult to see a way they avoid the play-in scenario at best.

The team is now just 0.5 games ahead of the 11th placed Oklahoma City Thunder and just 1.0 games above the 12th seeded Utah Jazz with 13 games remaining.

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves are doing their best to force their way into the top six spots in the West as they ran out comfortable 136-115 winners over the Atlanta Hawks.

Anthony Edwards’ return to his home state was a memorable one as he finished with 32 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists to lead Minnesota to an important win that leaves them sitting just 1.0 games back from the #5 seed.

In the nights other game the Miami Heat snatched a 119-115 win over the Utah Jazz in front of their home fans as they try to pull themselves out of the play-in scenario in the East.

Miami closed out on an 8-2 run to steal back a much needed win, but the hosts failed to cover the 8.5 point spread as they dropped to 10-24-2 (29.4%) ATS at home this season.
