NBA Monday Games Scores: Dominant Day for Underdogs

Dogs Bark Loudly on Low-Scoring Day

Warriors Finally Snap Road Skid

The Golden State Warriors put an end to their 11-game road losing streak with a 121-108 win over the Houston Rockets. Let’s recap the NBA Monday Games Scores and see what went on around the league.

The Warriors were made to work hard over the lowly Rockets as they found their groove from beyond the arc in the fourth quarter to earn a much needed win.

Golden State were the only favorites to cover the spread, with a late 8-2 run necessary to cover the 11.5-point spread. Kevin Porter Jr had a late uncontested 3-pointer at the buzzer to earn a backdoor cover for the Rockets but it fell just short to stop an underdog ATS sweep.

The rest of the card did go in favor of underdog bettors though as they went 5-1 (83.3%) ATS on the slate. Under bettors also enjoyed a profitable evening, going 4-2 (66.7%) on the night.

Mavs Collapse Again, Jazz Stop the Beam

The Dallas Mavericks were outscored 29-12 in the fourth quarter as they blew a 16 point lead on their way to a 112-108 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Grizzlies went on a 20-6 run across the third and fourth quarters to wrestle momentum before their defense again showed up in a big way to stifle the Mavs in the clutch.

Dallas did manage to cover the 4.5-point spread at the death as Dillon Brooks fouled Christian Wood on a 3-pointer that resulted in three made free throws to help them sneak back inside the number.

Memphis is now just 18-26-1 (40.9%) ATS against Western Conference opponents this season.

Meanwhile, the shorthanded Utah Jazz put a halt to Sacramento’s recent run with a 128-120 win as 7.0-point underdogs.

The Kings were playing their fourth game in six nights and they came out flat as they fell behind 40-19 after the opening quarter. Mike Brown’s team again fought their way back into the contest though as they managed to take a 105-102 lead with 7:58 to play in the fourth quarter.

Despite being without All-Star Lauri Markkanen the Jazz still managed to close out strongly and a 15-5 run to close the game ensured they remained in the play-in hunt in the West. Utah are now 10-1 (90.9%) ATS as home underdogs this season.

Knicks, Sixers Stunned on Home Floor

The New York Knicks were outright losers as 8.0-point favorites at home to the understrength Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Timberwolves were without Anthony Edwards but put in one of their best offensive performances of the season en route to a 140-134 win.

Taurean Prince was the hero for the road team as he put up one of the most impressive NBA player stats of the season, finishing a perfect 8-for-8 from 3-point range as he ended with a team-high 35 points.

Despite the losing effort Knicks star Julius Randle put up a career-high 57 points on 19-for-29 shooting. The Knicks are now 10-13-2 (43.5%) ATS as home favorites this season.

The Chicago Bulls played their second 2OT game in just four nights as they left Philadelphia with a 109-105 win over the Sixers.

Joel Embiid, who finished with 37 points and 16 rebounds, fouled out in the second overtime period and that resulted in the Bulls closing on an 11-2 run to secure an important win.

Despite the 10 minutes of extra basketball this game still managed to comfortably stay Under the 226.5 point total.

The Bulls, who comfortably covered the +8.0 point spread, are now 14-10 (58.3%) as road underdogs this season. They are also 26-19-2 (57.8%) ATS against Eastern Conference opponents.

In the nights other game the Charlotte Hornets were 115-109 winners at home to the Indiana Pacers.

The Hornets closed as 2.5-point underdogs and managed to overcome a 40-22 deficit after the opening quarter to leave with their 23rd win of the season.
