Nuggets Win in South Beach

The Nuggets escaped with a 112-108 win over the Heat on a night where they were down two starters as Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon sat out for the West’s top team. Despite not being at full strength the Denver offense did enough after a slow start as they led for the entire second half as 1.5-point road underdogs.
The total landed between the opening and closing numbers, with the 223.5 point opener going Under the number and the 218.0 point closing number cashing for Overs bettors. This was one of eight games that went Over the closing number on a good night for bettors looking for points.
Pelicans, Timberwolves Secure Important Road Wins
The New Orleans Pelicans made it four wins in their last five games as they earned a 103-100 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Pelicans closed as 3.0-point underdogs as they made it three straight wins over the Thunder this season and secured an important series win over a playoff contender.
The Minnesota Timberwolves were also outright winners as road underdogs as they held on for a 124-121 win over the Dallas Mavericks.
The Timberwolves closed as 5.5-point underdogs after initially opening at +7.5 points in most places. They held a comfortable 18-point lead heading into the fourth quarter before Kyrie Irving exploded for 26 points in the final frame to set up a tense finish.
The Utah Jazz were also outright winners as road underdogs as they took care of the Indiana Pacers 123-117.
Utah were catching +1.5-points here as they improved to a league-best 21-8-1 (72.4%) ATS as underdogs this season. The win also ensure the Jazz went 2-1 on their east coast road trip as they further dismiss claims that the team is looking to tank following their trade deadline decisions.
Knicks, Blazers Win Big at Home
The New York Knicks snapped their nine-game losing streak to cross-town rivals Brooklyn as they emerged with a 124-106 in the Battle of New York.
The Knicks received late market support as they closed as 3.0-point favorites on a night where they shot 55% from the field and moved to within 2.0 games of their division rivals in the Eastern Conference standings. The Knicks are now 20-16-2 (55.6%) ATS in conference matchups this season, owning one of the best NBA spreads records in conference games.
The Portland Trail Blazers jumped into the play-in picture once again in the West as they ran out comfortable 127-115 winners over the LA Lakers.
LeBron James was again missing for the road team as they simply couldn’t keep up with Portland’s 3-point barrage that saw them lead by 24 points heading into the final quarter. The Blazers closed as 2.0-point favorites and are now 22-14 (61.1%) ATS against Western Conference opponents this season.
The Golden State Warriors also picked up an important home win as they ran out 135-126 winners over the visiting Washington Wizards.
The Warriors were 4.0-point favorites in this one and improved to 17-11-1 (60.7%) ATS at home this season. They also continue to be the best Overs team in the league, with their games clearing the market total in 62% of their games.
Best of the Rest
The Philadelphia 76ers comfortably dispatched of the visiting Houston Rockets in a 123-104 home win.
The 76ers closed as 14.0-point favorites and never looked in doubt as they comfortably held the Rockets offense at bay. Houston is now 10-19 (34.5%) ATS on the road this season – the third worst road ATS record in the league.
The Cleveland Cavaliers closed with the biggest spread of the 2022/23 season when they tipped-off as 16.0-point favorites at home to the San Antonio Spurs.
This looked to be a complete blowout early as the Cavs led 34-19 after the opening quarter. The Spurs showed some fight after the interval though as they won the second half and managed to stay inside the number in a 117-109 loss.
The Charlotte Hornets snapped a seven-game skid with a 144-138 win over the Atlanta Hawks. The Hornets closed as 5.5-point underdogs as they secured a season series win over the Hawks.
The Orlando Magic were outright winners as 4.5-point underdogs against the Chicago Bulls as they battled to a 100-91 win. The Bulls have now lost four straight games; they’ve also failed to score more than 92 points in three of those outings.
