NBA Opening Night: Lakers vs Warriors Betting Odds
The Warriors and Lakers Open the 2022-23 NBA Season on Tuesday
Lakers vs Warriors Betting Odds Preview: Opening night of a new NBA season always presents a few of the league’s biggest matchups. Such is the case on Tuesday night when Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors play host to LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. While the Warriors are expected to be the better of the two teams this year, the Lakers should take a step forward after a disappointing 2021-22 season in which they failed to make the playoffs.
The Lakers vs Warriors betting odds for NBA opening night has Golden State as a 6.5-point favorite.

Warriors Bring Same Attitude, Tons of Depth
As the defending NBA champions, the Warriors will be honored with their championship rings prior to the start of the game. Historically, Golden State has performed well after this type of celebration, going 2-1 on ring night during this dynasty run and we like them to cover the spread again tonight. However, this is a bit more of a fade on the Lakers than a play on the Warriors.
The Lakers come into the season with a few injury questions already. Russell Westbrook is dealing with a hamstring issue while Dennis Schroder is dealing with a thumb injury, resulting in a very thin rotation at the guard position.

Lakers Looked Tired, Old, Beat Up, Must Put on Game Face
There are also a ton of question marks about how the Lakers will use Westbrook this season. He had a hard time finding a role that fit his playing style and also complimented the play of both LeBron James and Anthony Davis. There have been recent talks about Westbrook coming off the bench and leading the Lakers’ second unit, but we have yet to see if he’ll accept that role.
Outside of James and Anthony, the Lakers roster still feels a bit underwhelming and overall inferior to that of the Warriors. Between Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole, Golden State had the best perimeter shooting team in the league last season and there is no reason to think that’s going to change this year. Stay tuned for an ongoing list of this seasons NBA scoring leaders.

Warriors Never Afraid to Spend Big Money for Big Names
Poole and Andrew Wiggins also both signed massive contracts over the weekend, keeping them with the Warriors for years to come. This should bring an added level of fuel to both of these players at the early start of the season.
Concluding Our Lakers vs Warriors Betting Odds Preview: The Warriors do have a few chemistry concerns for the first time in a long time after Draymond Green sucker-punched Poole in practice. However, this is a team built on veteran leadership, so while it’s definitely something to take into consideration when handicapping games, we don’t see it being enough of an issue to avoid playing on the Warriors.
If anything, the Lakers are going to have a lot more chemistry issues to work through in the first few weeks of the season, which is why we like the Warriors to cover the 6.5-point spread on Tuesday. Keep it tuned right here for more Los Angeles Lakers betting tips throughout the season.
